interview w/richie hawtin

i know a lot of you aren't into techno, but for the djs (and aspiring) here, he says some really insightful things about djing and making music, plus he's really on one side of that pro-tools or no pro-tools debate, argues for the use of technology pretty well. . .(explains final scratch)

after that, tell what you guys think: yes to pro-tools and all the other new gadgets and djing shit they're coming up w/ OR no, alls you need is a mixer and two turnables. . .

me? i agree w/both. the tech and pro-tools should/could be used by djs who really innovate and take the music in new directions (ie, Richie Hawtin) but for those that just want to make a track list and leave it up to some sound engineer to put their fucking cd together. . . .(i'm starting to suspect nick warren, and yes, sadly danny howells - i dunno, take a look at the credits inside the new renaissance cd). . .it's just too easy, too perfect. . .
