Pullin' the plug on 711 Thursdays

It was a difficult decision to make, but we have decided to call it quits and close Play Thursdays @ 711. Next week, Thursday, June 5th will be the grand finale.

The night has been great, always well received and positively reviewed. We've received tremendous support for board folk, and for that we are forever appreciative. The management and staff at 711 has been great too, and ending this night is by no means they're request or wish. It's a decision Groovefire has made in light of other opportunities and a general sense that perhaps the summertime is not the best time for an indoor, downstairs early evening event. We genuinely believe in the concept and will definitely revive it in some form in the future.

It was a great few months, sharing the turntables with some of Boston's best and throwing back drinks with all of our friends. We'll certainly remember this night fondly. Thank you to each and every DJ who came down to play, each and every patron who came down to support, each and every reviewer who had something good to say about us and the night, and each and every employee of 711.

But it's not over yet, we have one more week, and we plan to make it count. Stay tuned, and if you can, come and celebrate the closing party with us next week. Thanks and peace!!
