...dont wing it...and dont get hammered up before you speak...other than that, the less you think about it, the better...i've gotten pretty good at it but that's really due to exposure and experience...def practice in front of a mirror once you know what you want to say...and then perhaps, try speaking in front of small groups...not nec the speech, but something...

Just tell your sister to find someone else to do it and if she has a problem with that, tell her to go fuck herself. That's what I would do.

I used to get so freaked out from public speaking. I actually blacked out and fainted during my midterm speech in the class. But I did awesome when I retook the class. You just kinda got to get up and get it over with.

I used to get nervous when I was speaking in front of a big group but I got over it pretty quickly when I had to start giving presentations for work to about 20-30 people at a time.

It would get old fast though, I only do one or sometimes two of three things when confronted with a dilemma, find a hot asian chick, shit on something or tell someone to go fuck themselves.

I use to hate it now i have to do it all the time for work presentations. Soemtimes 20 people sometimes 100's, regardless of the size the worst part is right before you go up. Some advise bring a written copy up with you, so if you blank out you can at least read what you wanted to say

i envy those of you who have no problems with this... when i had to give presentations in class, i would feel like i was out of my body. it's just my nature to be nervous like this, and i know half of the people aren't even listening.

Crowina, put a large wide mirror in front of all the people, using your imagination...imagine a mirror spread wide between you and the people you'll be speaking to...and use that visualization to block out the people who are watching you, so you only see yourself and think only about your words. Keep your thoughts centered on what you are doing and how you are saying, and not of people watching you.

The wise elder Phat gave you good advice. Practice seeing yourself in the mirror to perfect how you will do it. Practice how you will postition your body and find a relaxed position that will keep you from standing in an awkward manner, as well as how you articulate the words. Practice your breathing so you'll know where to take breaths between words rather than stumbling through words trying to breath. And listen to how you sound, and see yourself as you will look. And then as I suggested, in front of the people, think only about that mirror being in front of you and remind yourself of seeing yourself in the mirror at home. You will do fine.

...when i gave the best man's speech for my friend years and years ago, i was a nervous fuck...by the time i finished, my champagne glass was shaking to the point where it almost started spilling all over the place...
