New guy, from California

So I'm looking to possibly move to the DC area. I am a DJ from the San Francisco Bay Area and have been for just under 10 years. I'm curious as to what kind of events are out in that area, as well as what the people are into (music wise) and what the crowds are like. I'd like to get bookings out there, if possible. I have to tell you though, I found it to be pretty tough to get information about the scene in that area.
