What's wrong with Studio 54?

We will be in Las Vegas mid to late next week and will be staying at MGM. For convenience, we planned to just stay at the hotel and go to Studio 64 and Tabu for my late night fun. However, after reading some of the threads here I am concerned that I may be wasting my time. Is Studio 54 THAT bad? We are mid-30's professional couple hoping to have some "out-of-town" fun. We don't normally have a chance to frequent clubs and simply want to have a good time.

If Studio 54 is not a decent choice, is there somewhere else within walking distance of MGM that we should consider?

54 isn't that bad. I just personally don't have fun there. I think Tuesday at MGM is cool. For $20 bucks pays your ay into all three venues. But Pure seems like it will give all three venues at MGM a run for their money.

Kinda curious as to why you don't have fun at 54. Again, we are not really "clubbers", but I don't want to waste my first trip to LV AND a couple of nights out without having to worry about the kids.

Any alternatives you might recommend? Preferrably close to MGM.

Club ICE always has something going on.. Off the strip but worth the $$$ for the cab ride..

go early so you don't have to wait in line.. call ahead for table service and I bet your wife fucks you better then you been fucked in a while

Go to 54 check it out if you dont like it leave, but you sound like you just want to have some drinks and see the place, and it doesnt sound like you want a lounge...

Last I was there a few months back 54 had the same tired resident playing the same music every night.. that is so 90's.. they are just trying to fake people into believing they have the same feel as the original 54.. I wasn't around then but i guarantee it was different..

You are going to VEGAS get the full expierience,, go to a cirque du soliel show and then go to ICE you will have a blast..

even if you don't go to clubs you can chill and see what clublife is about..

My friend was there when we were in town last fall. She liked it. She didnt say it was great. Just decent. The crowd was long but average looks and not very presentable.

I think Studio 54 has one of the best lay outs of any clubs i seen but the music is just ok. 1st time i went i had a blast, but the 2nd,3rd,4th,5th times were just ok
