So What's LAX like?

Looking to try LAX this weekend? Is it any good? Is it big/small? Good female to male ratio?

Also, does anyone have any contacts there? Looking to NOT wait. Will have a female companion.

I was there on grand opening. It was quite an eerie feel being that it brought back so many crazy memories of my Ra days. Even though they changed the theme and the decor quite drastically, the fundamental floor plan is very much the same.

The dance floor is a huge rectangle, open to the ceiling of the club with skybox like booths overlooking it from the second floor almost like Body English, except that they are only on three of the four sides. Kind of like a horse shoe. Along the fourth side (one of the two long sides of the rectangle,) are booths with a stair case up the middle leading to the DJ booth and more tables on either side of the booth where the stage at Ra used to be.

At the edge of the dance floor opposite of the DJ booth side they have extended their table section and it is all under a very short ceiling. It gets rather claustrophobic in my opinion. One thing they didn't go lightly on is tables! There is no standing room if you are not on the dance floor. Rather ridiculous yet profitable.

The sound system is top notch, as to be expected from new mega clubs now a day in Vegas. Very loud and very clear with base pretty much pumping girl's panties right off.

Their main color is red and the entry is more of a mad house than Pure. The guy to girl ratio was like 4 girls to every 1 guy, but again, it was grand opening on a Wednesday when they had cocktail waitresses from every other venue Pure owns there as well as every other club they have good relationships with.

The same people who run the doors at Pure and Tangerine and other Pure venues run the door there as well. It's almost as if they rotate clubs on different nights.

My overall thoughts are positive, a bit on the way too crowded side (if that makes any sense,) but the vibe was nice and it's always cool to check out a new, different venue.

Here's my review on LAX:

Date: 10/19/07

Layout: It was alright. Dance floor was extremely crowded.

VIP: Service was awesome. Our area had our own security. He was great. Our waitress was very nice and same for our host.

Crowd: Very crowded. I thought it was the same crowd Ra attracted. Definitely more guys than girls. The quality of the girls was not very good.

Music: I thought it was a good choice of music and it sounded good.

Overall: Definitely not impressed, especially for the money.
