I did! Went to Virgin, and though I had to dig around, they definitely had it! It's awesome!

I have to say though, the liner notes were kind of disappointing. GU always used to have such cool liner notes. Such great descriptions of music. But this was crap. It was like a promotional spread for the LA scene and what this dj and that dj has to say about it. Who cares? I want to hear about the experience of playing in LA, not all the clubs they went to and promoters they met while they were here.

I agree about the liner notes. I REALLY wanted to hear about the Phat Lads and John exploring LA. Ohh, the trouble they get into here!! I love the quote from Taylor though, classic! Could've been much better, come on Dom you're dropping the ball.

A couple friends are mentioned in the liner notes, but I haven't seen the pictures yet. I have a friend whose picture made it into the Sasha - San Francisco CD though. I know, doesn't count.

Yeah it does! That's more than the rest of us can say.

from the gu email (so cute!!!):

    ‘MODEST’ John

TAKE 'Modest' John Digweed, a man with fine DJing skills, impeccable mixing, dry humour and an easy-going way with
people. Lovely bloke, yes, but Hollywood-style sex symbol? You might not think so. Come to Los Angeles and you will be
proved wrong, just like the motley Global Underground crew were when he played the GU party in LA. No sooner had John
manfully climaxed a triumphant set at Aztec temple the Mayan Theatre - in front of rows of adoring LA clubbers dressed in
bizarre Hollywood costumes - than a queue formed for his autograph. A queue constructed mainly of girls, cooing delightedly:
"Thank you John! Thank you!" and "John, you're so nice!". Okay, so "you're so nice" isn't quite the kind of slavering epithet
enjoyed by, say, hulking Gladiator star Russell Crowe. But give him time.

Which brings us careering towards Digger's movie career - which has already begun with a cameo appearance playing
'himself' in West Coast rave movie Groove. At the Mayan, his Groove co-stars Steve Van Wormer and Brad Ross were out in
force. Forget that Swingers movie, these guys are the real thing. None other than Rolling Stone magazine declared, "Groove
has got it going on" and described John Digweed as "internationally prominent". Judge just how 'internationally prominent' he
    is at groovethemovie.com.

Alternately, check out more photos in the booklet for John Digweed's outstanding LA mix set - compilation of the month in
Mixmag. According to the sleevenotes it's a mix that "projects dangerous licks onto rippling grooves, pummelling the deeper
sounds that have dominated 'progressive'-minded clubs into something meaner". Whatever that means. We just think it's a
banging mix that's dead classy, like. And it's out on February 26th in the UK and February 27th in the US.

    Angry

I really wish people would realize that the Mayans and the Aztecs are 2 COMPLETELY different civilizations !!! I don't know why, but that REALLY bugs me.
