Cool Stranger from UK in San Francisco needs a dance partner to show him round clubs

Hi All,
I am arriving in San Francisco next Monday 21st and will be there for three months. I need a local clubber to show me around the clubs while I'm there and I want to do club profiles for a similar site to this one in the UK. I am;
A VERY up for it 49 year old, straight, male clubber.
I have been clubbing since 1989. My favourite music is trance but techno and hard house come a close second - basically if it's underground I like it!! I like all-nighters and dancing my socks off. Don't you youngsters sneer at my age, I bin doin' it a long time and I am usually the first up and the last down!! So if you would like a partner in crime, from the UK, for a couple of months I'm him!!
Stay safe, regards,
Mick

Well Mate,

Your going to be hard pressed to find a single place to listen to Trance in the great Bay Area, since we are about 2 years ahead of the rest of the world. This is the home of real HOUSE my friend!

There are a few parties that you'll find for Hard House/Tech House. Your best bet is to check out http://www.sfstation.com/clubs
you'll find the all hap's there.

FYI- There is ONE trance party coming up on 6/16 at 699 Market Street (Club Decibel)called Trans-Cycle big name DJ's and all. Oop's, I forgot 1015 Folsom usually is trancey, as long as your cool with being surrounded by mostly young wanna-be gangster asian kids, a security camera in your face every 2 feet, and no vibe...then you'll be fine. No real San Francisco clubbers go there, but they do get big name DJ's.

Best Clubs/Parties-
Decibel - They recently have the best parties in town (Scuba, Move, Funki Wasabi, OM Records, etc..). I would definitely check them out (699 Market)

177 Townsend - On the right night its happening. Check out the Electric, Wicked or 12 Monkeys parties

550 Barnveld - OK monthy parties, not very consistent.

Come with an open mind and heart, and you'll never want to leave! Good luck.

Thumbs up

Thanks for that. The US/CA two years ahead? I doubt that very much. The US music/dance scene doesn't exactly set the rest of the World alight. Dance music is driven, mainly, from Europe, Holland, Belgium and (dare I say it?) Germany. Most of the top studios are in the UK. I have always found US music tastes to be a little antiquated. People who I have metioned 'clubbing' to round here seem to think it's got something to do with 70's/80's retro??

Anyway, many thanks for you're input. I have three months to kill so I'm sure I'll try the clubs you mentioned.

Stay safe,

Mick
