Cassius “1999 ‘05” White ENG – circulates as Cassius’ Groove, catalog number CASSG001, breakbeat-tinged reworking of this classic French discohouse track. Destiny’s Child “Lost My Breath” White USA 12 – I-soul remix, circulates as FRAN1 Mid-120s BPM chunky, slightly tribal, slightly techy house reworking with the full vocal on one side, a dub version on the flip. The Cult “Sanctuary 2005” White ENG 12 – circulates as Zapato, Pussy 2000 instrumental reworking of this classic track, with the flip being a rework of the theme from “Betty Blue.” Both mixes in a smooth, flowing deeper progressive house style. Catalog Number is ZAP003. Michael Jackson “Billie Jean 2005” White ENG 12 – Different Gear reworking, circulates as PC002. Dark brooding house mix with the full original vocal worked in. Flipside is another bootleg track, sounds like some early-80s British band. The KLF “What Time Is Love 2005” White ENG 12 – break-tinged progressive reworking by K-Boy, catalog number TRTK06. Lil Jon “”What They Gone Do 2005” White USA 12 – L Series bootleg, L008, remix by Sphere in a dark, progressive-tech hybrid house rework with the full vocal on one side and dub on the flip. Maroon 5 “Remixes” White ENG 12 – Two of Maroon 5’s biggest tracks getting festive mid-120s summertime house mixes (one on each side) with the full vocals preserved for both tracks. Perfect for earlier night play or for smaller rooms, both tracks are singalong as hell and are very well produced production. Circulates as ATD003. No Doubt “It’s My Life 2005” White ENG 12 – circulates as VOID002, reworking of the cover of Talk Talk in a fun midtempo house style, flipside is a house rework of the gospel classic “Shakles (Praise You)” that was covered by Mary Mary in 2000. The Scorpions “Hurricane 2005” White BNX 12 – driving Prydz-esque reworking of the heavy metal classic with hooks of the chorus worked into the production. Circulates as WL025. Vince Montana “It Looks Like Love 2005 ” Whtie ENG 12 – catalog # SLY003, Sly Spinners mix in a smooth seductive house production with the spoken male vocal worked in. On the flip is a rework of an old disco track called “Satisfaction.” SOS Band “Take Your Time (Do It Right) 2005” White ENG 12 – Olav Basoski remix circulating as “Do It Tonight”, catalog number TIGER03, with hooks of the original vocal worked into a Prydz-esque production. Three Drives “Greece 2004” White SPA 12 – DJ Chus tribal-progressive reworking of this deep trance classic, circulates as GREECE2004. Unknown “Moov DJs’” White ENG 12 – two bootleg cuts, one in a chunky breaks-tinged house style of a rap production (Dr Dre we think) while the other side is a seductive, progressive tinged rework of a house with a familiar-sounding female vocal sample. Circulates as RCB001. Various “Fuck Beast EP” White ENG 12 – collection of 4 different bootleg mixes, including SOS Band “Just Be Good To Me” “Axel F Theme”. Circulates as MUSKAT001. Yes “Owner Of A Lonely Heart 2005” White ENG 12 – Max Graham remix, circulates as MG2004, a chunky progressive-tinged reworking with hooks of the original vocal and instrumentation blended into the production. House Afrika Bambaataa f/Gary Numan “Metal” Tommy Boy USA 12 Part 2 – bigroom mixes of this electrohouse track released last fall. For the American circuit clubs Friburn & Urik provides a driving remix, while fans of a techier Subliminial sound will gravitate toward the Richard F mix and dub. Also includes a funky electrohouse mix from Paul Daley. Deborah Bond “This Is Me” Neodisco USA 12 – Smooth, seductive garage cut with a sweet vocal performance by Ms Bond over a flowing house production by Julius Papp. On the flip is Julius Papp’s own production “Dame Mas” with a seductive Spanish vocal over a dark, brooding Latin-tinged deeper house orchestration. 2 dubs (one of each track) also included. Mischa Daniels “Last Night” Fame BNX 12 – Solid house production with a hooky female vocal over a seductive mid-120s disco-tinged house production featuring string samples and chunky rhythm lines. Flipside “Electrofied Mix” is darker, chunkier and a touch techier with the vocal dubbed out. Thomas Falcon “High Again” Oxyd ITA 12 – samples of Chris DeBurgh’s “High On Emotion” woven into a driving, festive Prydz-esque tech house production from the producer whose rework of Steve Winwood in collaboration with Prydz would spark the massive “Call On Me.” Includes both a 4/4 house mix and a lightly breakbeat influenced mix. Farolfi & Gambafreaks f/Moloko “A Style Life” 24 ITA 12 – samples of Moloko’s classic “The Time Is Now” are woven into a chunky Italian tech house production full of energetic rhythm lines and hooky acidic synth lines. Three mixes. Fathom “Be Free” Nu Groove BNX 12 – Shuffly seductive garage vocal production with a smooth female vocal over a shuffly electric-bass driven house orchestration perfect for the more intimate rooms. Includes both full vocal and dub versions. Florida Inc “I Need Your Loving” More Money ITA 12 – The clubland vocal staple “I Need Your Loving Like The Sunshine” surfaces once again in this solid production. The original version is a trance-tinged mainstream release with a gorgeous female vocal performance over energetic beats. Flipside remixes take the track into Boogie Pimps-Royal Gigolos-style bigroom tech house that weaves the vocal perfectly into the production. Friburn & Urik “Show It’ Tommy Boy USA 12 – first of 2 12” releases this week from the popular bigroom circuit house producers. This disc features the track “Show It” with a hooky spoken female vocal over chunky tribal-tinged rhythms, while on the flip “The Beat” is more of a conga-influenced production with a seductive, floaty female vocal. Friburn & Urik “I Need You” Tommy Boy USA 12 – second of 2 12” releases this week, this disc features “I Need You” with chnky, driving rhythm lines and a massive diva vocal sample worked into the production. On the flip “Surrender” features a dark spoken male vocal worked into the drum lines. Full Intention “It Seems To Hang On” Definite Grooves ENG 12 – New remixes for 2005 of this Full intention production that was a B-side on a previous release. Classic Full Intention production with an inspirational male vocal over the seductive disco-tinged production. Paul Hamill “Jam The Box” Shine ENG 12 – Shades of 1993 in this dark, driving tech house production that uses classic house synth lines in the production that also features a dark, meancing spoken male vocal hook of the title. On the flip, Peace Division rework the production into a chunky, slightly breaks influenced production. Jack Addicts “Stalker” Dirty Blue ENG 12 – Dark, gritty techhouse cut with deep growling spoken male vocal hooks, chunky rhythm lines and funky synth lines. Remix on the flip by Nathan Fake is a touch more on the electrohouse tip with acidic synth stabs and a spooky synthline overlaying the production. The Lovefreekz “Shine” Positiva ENG 12 – UK commercial edition of this massive ELO-sampling house production includes the chunky Pete Heller remix that was on the Italian release last week as well as two new mixes, a driving discohouse interpretation by Chosen Few and a trance-tinged reworking by Jupiter Ace as well as the massive original version. Stacey Mallory “Love Power” Bumpin City USA 12 – Solid house production that rides the line between seductive garage and a chunkier bigroom sound with a stunning female vocal, hooky Rhodes keywork and a chunky rhythm line. Two mixes, both very inspirational productions. Danny Morales “Stress” Tweek’d USA 12 – Dark, brooding deeper tribal tech production with a growling spoken male vocal over chunky rhythm lines and deep, spacious Superchumbo-styled synthwork. Two mixes, both perfect for the floors that like their sound gritty, this cut is already poised to join the Billboard Club Play chart. Tony Moran f/Zhana Saunders “Waiting for Alegria” Tommy Boy USA 12 and C5 One of the highlights of the mix CD Tony did for Tommy Boy with a remix from Rosabel. Already a huge buzz record in the circuit circles, with Zhana’s solid diva vocal performance supported by driving circuit house orchestrations. An early anthem for 2005. Mylo “Destroy Rock And Roll” Breat Fed ENG 12 and C5 – Followup to the massive electrohouse smash “Drop The Pressure”, this track takes an old 80s anti-Rock 7 Roll speech by some fundy “defender of morality” who lists all the “dangerous” bands of the time who threatened American society with their music (how times have not changed!). Mylo then hooks, chops and weaves the sample into his chunky production. Release also includes mixes by Tom Neville, Headman and Riton. Set to be huge. Suzanne Palmer “Home” 69 USA 12 and C5 – mixes from Beat Hustlerz and Offer Nissim, a massive circuit house monster with La Palmer’s vocal the star of the show. CD-Maxi adds a second Offer Nissim mix and the David Morales and Angel Moraes mixes of “Luv 2 Luv” that had been released on vinyl last autumn. D Ramirez “Slave” Lot 49 ENG 12 – Dark, brooding tech house as only D Ramirez can produce with deep, brooding synth lines and a hooky sinister sounding spoken male vocal sample worked into the production. On the flip is Meat Katie’s reworking of last year’s “Venus And Mars” that is very well produced and preserves the catty dialogue between the guy and girl in the original beautifully. DJ Max Ray “Percusiva EP” House Explosion ITA 12 – for fans of drums this release feautures intricate blends of congas, sambas and snares all set to Latin-tinged beats with vocals worked over the top. Classic Italian tribal production. Seal “Killer 2005” Warner USA 2x12 – vinyl edition now available on these massive new reworkings of Seal’s early 90s classic. Mixes come from Peter Rauhofer, Morel and DJ Monk and provide a variety of house interpretations that work perfectly with Seal’s stunning vocal. Note this release does not contain the remixes of “Crazy” that were on the CD-Maxi. Tears For Fears “Shout 2005” Mercury ENG 12 – Originally starting life as a bootleg, Skylark’s reworking of this classic 80s cut now gets a full commercial release, with the progressive tinged mix from Skylark joined by a chunky energetic tech-house remix by Fergie and a smooth, seductive full-vocal deep house interpretation by Jakatta. Vinylshakers “One Night In Bangkok” Kontor GER 12 – For fans of the Royal Gigolos-Boogie Pimps sound this release is perfect. Covered hooks of the chours from the Murray Head 80s classic get blended into a driving bigroom tech house production. Completely fun production with a famous hook and tons of energy. Remix by Mark Lewin on the flip gives the track a slightly trancier feel. Trance & Progressive Niki B & Christian EFFE “Eyes” Swift ENG 12 – Latest release from this prolific progressive production duo features another dark, seductive orchestration of deep, expansive synth swells, seductive rhythm lines and a haunting female vocal counterpoint that ties all the elements together perfectly. A dub version on the flip also included. Diamond “Reason” Andorfine GER 12 – Solid German vocal trancer in an Ian van Dahl vein with smooth melodic synth orchestrations, solid rhythm lines and a gorgeous female vocal woven perfectly into the production. On the flip are remixes from Kareema and Bulldozer that toughen the production but preserve the beauty of the vocal. Katana “Fancy Fair 2005” Reset BNX 12 – New reworking of this massive anthemic trance production, with the new interpretation adding a dark, techy edge to the mix while still preserving the uplifiting melodic elements to the production. Remix by E-Craig on the flip toughens and darkens the production further. Steve Porter “Homegrown EP” FDS USA 2xLP – Five track album sampler of productions by one of the more popular progressive producers today with cuts ranging from the spacious and atmospheric like “Sandbox” to the chunky, techy and gritty like “Swanky”. A solid collection of tracks that illustrates Porter’s range of production. RPO & Thomas Penton “Perfect Storm” Garbage FRA 12 – The blending of France’s premier dark progressive producer with one of the UK’s leaders in that style for a massive release that blends spacious atmospherics with dark driving rhythm lines and a hooky spoken male vocal. Sosonic f/Daisy “Way Beyond” Fourty Five BNX 12 – Haunting trance production with an emotional female vocal over a seductive melodic orchestration that builds to a hand-raising climax from the breakdown. Includes both full vocal and dub versions. Sonar Systems “Sonar Systems” Beam Trax GER 12 – stunning German instrumental trance monster with waves of melodic synth, driving rhythm lines and dramatic crescendos that break down into haunting passages that then build to massive breakouts. Two mixes, equally euphoric in sound. Sunblind “Believe” Monster BNX 12 – Ark In The Sky on the production for this driving trance production with a charging techy rhythm line balanced by dramatic melodic synth lines and a stunning female vocal for an exquisite production. Includes both full vocal and dub versions. Three Drives “Greece 2005” S2 GER 12 – One of the classic anthems in the pantheon of trance production gets another update, with new versions by DJ Shog and DJ Tatana that add a sophisticated German trance interpretation that adds energy but preserves the inherent beauty of the original production. Also included is the original Three Drives production that started it all back in the late 90s and is now very difficult to find on wax.
