So much in the news is so boring these days - the presidential race:
it's the same every year. There's the pro-abortion/pro-life squabbles,
the raise taxes/slash taxes back-and-forth, with much fist shaking, mud
slinging and pandering. Then there's the little Cuban boy Elian
Gonzalez. Is Cuba really a threat now that the cold war is over? If he
wasn't so photogenic it's unlikely that he would continue to be in the
news. Somebody please tell the media to only report if there was a
decision made to keep him or send him home. It's neither informative nor
entertaining to hear every detail of his daily activities. At least
ClubPlanet provides a vehicle to inform you of interesting and
informative happenings both locally and abroad, as well as a lounge to
discuss these and perhaps more personal matters with other purveyors of
like information and entertainment. In the mean time, stay informed and

DJ Contest

To those of you who missed it last week, here it is again:

- the contest will take place in NYC on the last Friday of February and
will act as the closing party for the Silicon Alley Festival
- 8 DJs will be selected to compete
- prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners
- there will be 5 judges, ranging from professional DJs and club
celebrities
- entrants are asked to submit a tape or CD, with a maximum length of 45
minutes
- the type of music can be anything ranging from house to trance,
anything with a 4/4
- entries can be submitted until Friday, February 11th at 5pm
