Halloween Costume shops

Where are the Halloween costume shops in the city?

I'm looking for costumes on-line but I'd rather try them on.

I went into one on Monday. Place was huge, it was located on Broadway around 12th or 11st, just south of Union Square. I also saw some others in that general area.

The place Urban is talking about is called Halloween Adventure and they have a site where you can check out some of their costumes. I think they also have seasonal stores that open up in New Jersey too. I bought my costume from the one in the city and they really had a huge selection.

There is also another place in the city called Ricky's that has some decent costumes.

you should also check out abracadabra, it's huge. it's down on 4th ave. and like 11th st

that's the same one the person talked about being on broadway, it goes all the way through.

abracadabra was dissappointing. i was there twice this week. the staff acts like they are too good to talk to you. i think its the type of place you have to go to way in advance to get your stuff. you can get great stuff but its gonna cost, and at this time they know they got mad business so they can treat you like crap.

Thanks for the suggestions. I got my costume at ricky's. They have a temporary Halloween store at 45th & 5th, but you're only allowed to try on 2 costumes during peak hours so go early.

Glad to help. I got my costume from Rickys one year they are pretty good too. The places in the city definitely get crowded though, that's why I went like 2 weeks ago this year.
