Night life under 21...does exist?

Hi, this is my first week in manhattan (even in US) and
I don't know how the nightlife works here.
I stay in Chelsea (near the village) and I'm here
with 2 friends who unluckily are 20 years old...so in the most
of the places we had visited they couldn't enter.
Where can we find good places for dancing or listen
to live music?
Where do young people (under21) usually go
in manhattan?

Now forget it unless you have a great ID, but the way they are busting on clubs and bars it better be good

It's not too hard to find things ... I have only been here for a couple of weeks aswell, but ti seems like Pacha is 18+ on friday nights, also I went to Sullivan Room last (thursday) night and everything was fine I think I might have been breaking the rules though ... I've also heard about other things; pretty much if you look around you are bound to find something, it seems like the more people I talk to, the more there is than I thought happening for U21's in Manhattan.

The only place IN THE WORLD that has such a high drinking age is in America. Besides, if you don't care so much about getting a drink and more about the music and having fun, there is always somewhere to go. It isn't hard to find a place in Manhattan when you are 18+.
