  1. i'll be there (of course, i live in detroit so...) BUT anyway...it should be a good weekend for sure! i'm not TO excited about the festival itself but there are a ton of wicked after parties! yel2 w/monolake vs. deadbeat (live), speed j (live + dj set), matt jonson (live), matthew dear, chris liebing & biosphere (live) green light go w/john tejada, jeff sammel, dan bell & claude young party @ oslo w/ robert hood, legowelt & perspects after dark dancing w/derrick may, francois k & stacey pullen for those who know III (underground resistance party) w/ timeline (live), rolando, buzz goree & james pennington run, stop, restore w/magda & troy pierce flow w/minx, k-hand, lady d & jan d those are just the big parties. there are a million other littler parties going on as well. and yes, ramon's staying at my place so he IS going to be here. lumin: what's your real name? maybe we should all meet up sometime over the weekend. PM me or something.
  2. hey huggs, if you're into the darker, more tribally house stuff like danny teneglia, danny howells etc...then i would go see x-press2. they are more along those lines. deep, dark & dirty tribal/progressive house with heavey basslines. tyler stadius is pretty much strait up tech-house in the same vain as mazi, terry francis, Mr.C & eddie richards. he can go deep-house, funky house or even a little techno but all in all he is tech-house. hope this helps you out a bit! have fun with which ever you choose.
  3. why don't you try reading what he said before asking that question?? he did not say "techno doesn't move me" or "i don't like techno". if he had then i wouldn't have said what i did. if he doesn't like techno then thats cool as everyone is entitled to their own opinions. but he DID NOT say that, he said "techno has no feeling" which is a TOTALLY uneducated statement and completely diffrent from saying "i don't like techno" or "techno doesn't move me"!
  4. sounds kinda like home was in lancaster square, london. is this going to be 7 floors as well?? as for techno not having any feeling...that is prob. the stupidest , most uneducated statement i've heard this year and i read GU were there are PLENTY of stupid, uneducated statements made!! if you don't know about something, and by your statement it's blatently apart you know absoultely NOTHING about techno or richie hawtin then keep your mouth shut. techno has a feeling. most of the time it's a angery, cold, dark, hopeless, desolate, industrial feeling as that was/is usually the general feeling & atmosphere of the main cities & producers that spawn techno ala detroit, germany, and even certin parts of england and europe. it's not all happy and lovey dovey like house music. obviouly you're to shallow to look beneath the surfice of techno and see what it is made up of thus you do not understand it. so rather then make an ass out of yourself by making stupid uneducated comments about things you know nothing about why don't you either open your mind a bit and go do some research about techno and try to understand & learn about it or otherwise just shut your mouth.
  5. glad it all went well ramon! i knew you were the right person to contact about this you came through big time bro.! thanks! john & john were very excited about this gig! and john B was very happy to be able to play at jazid as he's loves the place. thanks again on behalf of john, john & myself for making it happen ramon!
  6. since i'm not going to conference this year and i'm not all that far from montreal i've actually been thinking about going to mutek this year as it's something i've wanted to do for a long time now. i've known about this plastikman gig for a few months now and it's been one of the MAJOR considerations for me going to mutek this year. i am DEF. going to start saving for this and hopefully if all goes well i will be there for sure!
  7. kelvin andrews is one of the best dj's in the world! the man is just sick! i had the pleasure of seeing him a few times over the past few years. once at back door bamby, once at lola and then for john's 4th of july party at level a couple years ago and every time, the man spun some of the sickest tracks i've ever heard! it sucks that this is at the end of conference but if you are still standing, even if it's only on one leg i would DEF. not miss kelvin!
  8. since ramon forgot to put the link to this up for those that don't already know. i'll do the honors... http://www.protonradio.com
  9. i'm awsuming that this is a recording from a live set they did at some point. what is this proton show based on? where is this hawtin/magda set from? when was it recorded?
  10. i love it when people say things like this ^^^ how the hell do you know "that is how it happened"?? were you there? did you see it first hand? no, i don't think so. you claim to know because that is how it said it happened in the bible. that's laughable since the bible was written something like 1000 years AFTER this event by someone who wasn't even there namely king james of scotland who by this point in time most likely already had a bias opinion of the stories. even the books written by the apostles right after the events varied in their accounts of what actually happened and most of the stories based on this event that are written in the bible are taken from the accounts of the apostles. if they lived it and can't even agree what happened then how the hell can YOU say "afterall, that is how it happened"?? talk about sheep...
  11. oh boy...here we go
  12. hahahaha! you have NO idea what you may have just started with that comment HAHAHAHAHA! the guys around these parts tend to be quite ummmm...sextual

  14. don't know if any of you lot have ever heard of this girl but let me tell you she is wicked! if you're into techno you'll love her! think HR3 clubnight, adam byer, jeff mills, dave clarke, robert hood, neil landstrumm, speedy j etc...style techno. you all should DEF. check her out!
