  1. Damn, a battle of wits has begun...it's unfortunate the NJ cats are unarmed. I still don't get why they feel the need to come on here and talk shit...I haven't been on this board in 6 months and the last time I was on, some dumb ass, g'd out, muscle head guido from NJ was talking shit then too...guess they have nothing better to do. Let's hear some more rants and raves about how great Tempts is...sweet....I can hear the fucked up, room temperature IQ accents already.
  2. Yo, G-man...long time no see...did you run that marathon yet? Can you go out now? I'm getting ready to start a new lounge night at Alto Palato in a few weeks...hope you can swing by at some point...at least for the opening night...should be tight. Now for this thread...yes, it's 3 of Clubs...under the Bargain Clown Center sign on the northwest corner of Santa Monica and Vine...and right up the street (just south of Fountain) is On Vine, the fondue joint at 1235 N. Vine (Gumby, I think Jen is having her bday party there Saturday...I told her it was the perfect joint for it but I'll be in Chicago this weekend). I actually dj'd a friend's bday party there a few weeks ago...place is tight...same owners as Beauty Bar and Star Shoes...so it has the Euro feel, owner's from London...funky ass lounge though with dj's, etc. and that upstairs opium den-esque area with bean bags and pillow, kewl projections up there too...but yo, keep your eye out for Soma...your aural muscle relaxer...hehe. Peace.

Cool, thanks for the 411. Damn, I need to talk to Derrick about an event I'm doing next year...I wish Dayhota was getting back before Sunday so she could make that introduction...I think I'll have to hit it up regardless...and Naked Music...shit, I better email Bruno now to get hooked up. I didn't know Spundae did a night in Chicago too...damn, those fools must be makin' loot...but I'll have to pass on them. DC and NM sound like the ticket...so both of these are at Zentra? It's 21+ right? Can you hook a brutha up? A little out of town promoter courtesy at the door? Oh yea, hit me up at dave@dlishproductions.com and I'll give you my digits and give me a shout when you're in town...give me a few days and I'll try to hook you up with some parties and guest lists, etc. here. Street Scene is in SD that weekend...that's a kick ass 3 day festival...www.street-scene.com

Damn, do you have anything going on this weekend? I'm coming out there this weekend to visit friends and looking for something to get into...that's funny...I know Roy (played a gig for me in LA a few years ago when he was staying out here for a stint) and I met Jevon at the 2000 WMC...cool cat.
  5. You need to ask closer to that date...things change in this town weekly...
  6. Hey...where the hell have you been? Fuel (well Nacional) re-opened Wednesday...it's not quite done yet, but is definitely a unique set up. Those fuckers better let me in there to do a night.
  7. Ok, why does a song being in a commercial ruin the song for you? It's still the same song, with the same beat, etc. Also, these are hip commercials...trying to reach a younger, hip audience. Also, it's helping this music reach a market and people that might not ever be introduced to it another way...which in turn helps create a positive outlook on our subculture, our music, etc. I think it's a good thing....especially when it's well done as these commercials are. I'm taking baby steps towards being a music supervisor on movies and I want to put out hip soundtracks with underground music...does that mean that if I put in a phat track in a movie, that it will ruin it for you too?
  8. Yo Gman...where/how ya been? Started your training yet? I'm going backpacking this weekend up in the sequoia national park...with the help of some shroomytunes...decided to pass on Coachella this year...time to be one with nature.
  9. "Days Go By" by Dirty Vegas. Yea, it is a cool song. Check out the video: http://dirtyvegas.tripod.com/ Have you noticed all the electronica being used for commercials these days? A lot of them for cars too. Orb, Thievery Corp., Wiseguys, Crystal Method, Propellerheads...that's just a few off the top of my head that I can still visualize the commercial...
  10. I'm going...but will not be renting an RV this year...I still have flaccid ashbacks about that adventure to the first one.
  11. I agree whole heartedly. It's the same here in LA. You should be able to go out and be comfortable, clothing, shoes, etc. Just because you're dressed that way doens't mean you're not gonna spend money. The club owners wanna make their establishments seem exclusive or have hot people dressed impeccably, but that's bullshit. People should be able to get in anywhere wearing sneaks and comfy clothes. I hate it when owners pull that shit in clubs I promote for...most of my peeps could give two shits about how someone is dressed...it's what's inside the person, not what's draped around. So, you hit the nail on the head. Peace.
  12. Werd...Dave knows how to do it right. Anyone hit up the URB boat cruise? That's always my favorite party. Good talent, cruising around on a big ass boat...great for networking.
  13. I've never heard of him, but I just saw a thread about the Ultra Party at the WMC in the Miami forum that talked about his set there.
