  1. Holy shite, I haven't been on here in about the same amount of time and just today decided to poke around and see whatup and found this thread. it's been ages, but those sure were some good times back in the city. Now I live in Seattle, where the clubbing scene is well, seattle style. But, that doesn't mean I don't still throw down on occassion. Actually have become a big breaks fan these days - Bassnectar / Freq Nasty / etc. I bet the little green bottle form my tag line is still here too. We should host a roll call, just for ol' times sake! and, what about not4kids? that guy was a trip and a half!
  2. Drais has always been my favorite LV establishment, but the music this saturday was especially remarkable. Who were the DJs throwing down? they just lobbed up these crazy beats, let them hang for a second, then smacked 'em silly. I overheard one of them (Dreidel T-shirt) saying they keep playlists and record the tracks to DAT. Gotta git me some. . .
  3. Anybody popped in to check out Carbon in Culver City? I haven't heard much about it and don't think I know anybody that's actually gone, but sounds like it could be a cool low-key kind of joint. http://losangeles.citysearch.com/profile/35702357/los_angeles_ca/carbon.html if you know something, pass along the good word. G
  4. I've been living in Cali for the past few years, and there are some serious west coast breakss / tribal DJs that I'd love to see more of. Not sure what kind of draw they'd have at a big city event, but that's a different question. Bassnectar - Lorin Freq Nasty Smoove (any of the spacecowboys) Random RAB, etc, etc, etc. And, if I was doing sunday nights too, Ben Watt would get that gig. most of my favorites will be at a party in LA next week - Red Bull Ascension. check out the site - they have a nifty player where each participating DJ has posted a track. http://www.redbullascension.com/asc05/
  5. It's been ages since I've posted here, but I'm making a return trip to the city and have one question about the sunday daytime haps Any sunday day parties that aren't too soulful? Is Vinyl still around? tell me what ya know!
  6. I went this weekend, now I know. mystery solved.
  7. thanks, it's something we should both know!
  8. Hi, I see you're on the roster at Drais. You probably know the answer to this one. What's the older woman's name that works the coat check? I'll be up this weekend and want to for once get it right. I always drop in and say hi, but I never remember her name. She's the sweetest and always has a kind word for the wayward as the hour gets late. You can PM me if ya want. G
  9. you gotta get over the hump, drink one more than you think you should. I have the shit from the Czech republic and it's damn good. but, i've never fully tripped out on it. I should set aside a night where I do nothing but drink Absinthe. Last time I was drinking it, I was smoking a cuban cigar. The cigar tasted great, but since I smoke once about every 3-4 years, that combo damn near killed me. I had to excuse myself and visit a tree. ;-(
  10. Will be in Vegas this weekend for the double header of consumer electronics show + adult entertainment convention. Ok, mostly for CES, but if I have a few drinks and start running my mouth, i'll probably make up some porn star shit! anybody else gonna be around? Gonna be hitting up Drais on Saturday, and still undecided about friday. Not sure which crowd to go for, it's so hit and miss. I live in SF, where the nightlight isn't quite like Vegas. Would be nice to go to a joint with a cool crowd, but maybe bachelorette parties would be more fun. time to invent a vegas identity.
  11. http://www.absinth.com/cgi-bin/s_cart03/perlshop.cgi Make sure it has the thujon in it. have 3-4 drinks and you'll be feeling all warm. . . I've never heard of travel bottles. Maybe from an overseas flight?
  12. And, make sure you get pierced at the proper size. I would suggest 10ga. Do not get 14ga - too small. 12ga is too small too. THey actually heal quicker when they are bigger. hurts just the same. And, I think bars happen to look cooler than rings (I have bars). Enjoy. . .
  13. It's very cool looking piercing, but they can cause gum erosion, which isn't a pretty thing. If you are interested in knowing more about the piercing, beyond aesthetics, check out my favorite site. . . http://bmezine.com/pierce/05-lips/bme-pg05.html
  14. If I could, I'd certainly bring my own but I'm all out and don't really have a connection here. I figured it would be easiest and probably safest to score at the club. Gambitrah - thanks for the info. That makes sense. I'll watch the action to see who looks likey they are working. Or, maybe I'll sit there and look all sober - like I need a little help. At Dead shows, there was a guy with a sign that said 'Have you seen my cousin 'cid'. Too funny, but I bet it got him trips.
  15. Hey, I am visiting a nameless big club in SF and might be looking to pickup a few rolliolios. I used all mine up at another party. I usually like to bring my own, but it's not going to happen this time. how can I find the club dealer and check to see if they are legit and on the level. I don't want any hassle, just a clean deal. Any visual clues that give them away? Anything that I could do to attract their eye without looking like too much of a fiend. Maybe their is an underground 'code' system? From your personal experience, is the club dealer usually cool? Or, do they deal bunk stuff that would get panned on pillreports.com and failz the eztest test?
