  1. there are like no people on this forum...what happened to the old community??? its all cp news threads...
  2. oh wow, i was also just checkin.... sup quoth, its been a few years. this board has changed for the worse unfortunately. i can't even find a halloween party on here.
  3. i am looking to do a bday party. i see guetta is at pacha. any similar parties in nyc going on? big club with house or techno/trance dj's?
  4. oh snaps...magilicuti. wow oldschool! yeah i think it has something to do with commercialism. too many ads and crap. but i think we should also consider the fact that at least in nyc the nightlife sux. the transition from clubs doing big parties with great dj's, and lots of people dancing and dropping pills to a scene of financial guys wannabe models and bottle service killed the industry. its not fun to go out anymore. sitting at a table and buying bottles is not as fun as going out and dancing your ass off. combine that with cops trying to shut down clubs all the time or fine them for noise complaints and you have a recipe for disaster. business wise investors get their money, rich dudes get to feel "cool" but the heart of the scene is dead. most of the consistent posters here were people who have favorite clubs, or favorite dj's. so now there is nothing to talk about. no one is going to talk about their awesome night buying bottle service. i miss the old days...
  5. yeah. the wierd thing is that the girl doing the reservations was going to let me in, but the "head" of security was beefing. when i asked him what the problem was he just turned around and ignored me. i can see why so many bouncers get shot.
  6. deja vu dude. I remember we had an internet beef like 5 years ago, then we hungout at roxy after. Good to see your still the same jersey trash from way back when. How is your guido jersey website going?
  7. My friend was having his bday at Ultra, which had some deal with an open bar from 10-11. I got there and the line was not moving at all until about 10:40. Totally lame way to scam on open bar fees. Then when I was about to go in the door guy separated me from my group which was four females, and they got in. I was told to wait and they picked a bunch of females from the back of the line to get in. Then at the front the door guy tells me that theres a dress code and i cant get in without a button down shirt. First time I heard this. I made a phone call and got a shirt delivered to me. So I talk to the girl at the front and shes like ok let me see if you have to wait on line or just go in. The security guy is like where did you get that shirt and i say that someone brought it for me. Hes like no dice, get your own clothes. I said ok I'll go get another shirt. Then he stops me and is like hey you still wont get in with those shoes. WTF!! So basically I missed my friends bday because the doorman was a dick. Thanks alot Ultra, I'll make sure none of my friends ever sign up for one of your bday packages again.
  8. really guys? no info on this?
  9. Does anyone have it? Is it good? Know where to get it? I think it looks cool, but not so sure about it, especially with 3g iphone about to drop. but then again the iphone is bulky and a hassle at times. any opinions? i guess the armani and instinct phones are in the same area as well.
  10. my favorite line was "that fuckin bone" after the car crash. friendo comes second. i think the ending was fine. its another way of telling a story which was original. i think the point of the movie was the relationship of these three characters and how their morals compared to each other, and let them down their paths. in the end once anton escaped and lew ellen moss got it by the mexicans there was nothng left to say. on a side note my friend said "man i cant wait until no country for old men 2 comes out" that kills me lol
  11. she should have installed pc phone home on her computer. she would have probably got the robbers. if the dog ran away i dont think hamlet wants to live with her...just saying
  12. i love the way they say "an unarmed man on his wedding day." how different would it sound if they said "a car full of drunks with criminal records, with a drunk driver who tried to run down a cop." using your car as a weapon hardly means you are "unarmed"
  13. From what I understand there were five cops involved and only three were charged. 51 shots from five cops is not alot considering most cops are trained to empty their clip in a situation like that. thats about 10 bullets per cop on average, even though they have like 16 shots per clip. one guy emptied his clip and reloaded. guns shoot fast. it is a terrible situation all around, i just wish people would take a balanced look at the facts.
  14. A little late in posting but this is totally on my mind and totally NYC. Seems the Rev. Al Sharpton is planning to "tear down" the city in protest for the verdict. What a douche bag. I think it's really time to just let go. Saying this case is a racial issue is clearly untrue, since two of the cops on trial are black. In addition Sean Bell tried to run them over with his car. Whether or not the police identified themselves they did in fact have a right to open fire. As to the 51 bullets, in Mayor Bloomberg's words "as a layman that sounds excessive." An yes it does to most people. However an african american corrections officer explained to me that he routinely shoots 16 shot clips in under four seconds while at the range. Maybe 51 bullets at a moving car driving towards you is not excessive, if you consider that it was night as well things are not so clear anymore. The bottom line is that these police did not commit a crime, nor did they actively seek to deprive these men of their civil rights. In hindsight we can all say what should have been done, but we were not there. I agree that there is institutional racism still present in the United States, but a criminal court trying this case is not the venue for larger issues. Where was Al Sharpton before the shooting? Doing jack as usual. I am glad these officers were found not guilty, and hope that more people show gratitude for the men and women who guard their streets everyday for $12 an hour.
