David Wells Is Available

do you think it would be a smart move for the Mets to grab him? I think they should if they don't have to give up much. Let him pitch a few games in september and if he does well add him to the playoff roster. With the uncertainties of Pedro and Glavine wouldn't be a bad back up plan. He is a proven big game pitcher and can certainly handle NY and has pitched well since coming off the dl. A rotation of Pedro, Glavine and Wells with either Maine starting and El Duque in the bullpen (or starting) isn't too bad. Old as fuck but whatever. If he bombs the next month dont add him to the playoff roster

It certainly can't hurt... Like you said though, you can't give up too much...
