Just a review of the parking lot. The entire neighborhood has $4-$5 lots. White Lotus: $10 to valet, $20 for the "car upfront".They need to charge the same as virtually all the lots in the area ($4-$5). $10 is too much. Nice, PleasantBack Room - 9: Very Nice. Good Flow. Lots of Couches, Pillows, Classy Bar, etc.Upstairs (Loggia) - 10. Really v beautiful (v expensive construction and decore but oddly v v cheap landscaping/plants). People: Packed Packed Packed downstairs (overcapacity? maybe?)Parking: 10! Very easy! 4 hours for $2 (after that about $1 per 20 minutes)Cover: yesBest Thing: People clearly were there to have fun.Worse Thing: Too crowded at one point and too many people that accidentally (not intentionally) pushing, tripping, etc. on the dancefloor. Also -- the absence of just the main exit way when on the first floor makes u feel sort of clostraphobic when u are in the back room with a packed crowd.Would you go Back: Yes Yes Yes!The addition of caponies outside --- wonderful!Generally, really quite surprised is was this good. Music was A+ (top 40 hip hop, power 105.9 hip hop, one area techno). People were great because clearly there to have fun ... very good cross section of people - some v good looking, no one really ugly.If you go --- give help to the staff (which is v nice and excellent) to point out the people with drinks on the dancefloor --- drinks are not allowed on the floor and rightfully so. HUGE line outside, but once you're in, hardly anyone's in... slow from 10-midnight, picks up a bit after midnight... drinks are pretty strong, music is commercial...The Stock Exchange - NOBODY WAS IN THERE when we went... 30-40 people in the club at its heigh around 1:30am... great space, just not very popular on Saturday nights...Still haven't checked out The Palace, I really wanna go... weyes Posted April 6 Report Share Posted April 6 VENUE: RED (AT ARENA, ON FRIDAY NIGHTS)LOCATION: SANTA MONICA BLVD & LAS PALMASNIGHT YOU ATTENDED: FRIDAY, APRIL 4, 2003PROMOTION: NODecor: 10. i've always liked the setup and flow at arena. places to sit in all areas of the club, ways to get upstairs on both sides, and i loves me a mezzanine!Only drawback about the setup: only one room - no choice between 2 djs.Patio: 6. sucks. always too crowded, there's rarely an empty seat, and the 2 doorways to get out are always jammed.People/vibe: 8. people are nice, but sometimes there are a few too many cracked-out peeps...Parking: 10. i park right across the street, generally, but the lots right next to the club are $4 or so, i think.Cover: $20, or $10 if you sign up on their website - www.nexxez.com before 6pm on thursday and get to the club by 10pm on friday. (10pm sharp, people! they're not kidding!)Best thing: relaxed, laid-back atmosphere. absolutely no attitude or pretentiousness to be found, ever, and i go to red regularly.Worst thing: sometimes the opening djs can suck - hard.Would i go back? i would, and i do!
