scratchapella Posted January 14 Report Share Posted January 14 whatup all,i really did miss everyone and this board the past three weeks. things got cragee w/exams and then i lost broadband connection at home. . .BUT, i did read all about the cookies. . .i wish i could've come to the meetup, there'll be another one, right? we'll do the happy dance together, malanee. on another tip: for all the industry heads, djs, producers, etc. out there. . .here's some interesting shit i got in the mail. tell me if you're going to sign up. it's gonna be goood:For those of you who may not yet have heard:The much talked aout Techno Select project that was dreamed up by a several industry leads @ WMC 2001 (last year) is FINALLY underway. Techno Select is essentialy a site being created for lead industry professionals (DJ's / Producers etc.) to get their newly created material in the hands/ears of activly playing DJ's around the world. www.technoselect.com Known producers submit their new works and pending works to the site, and DJ's and other producers can listen to the complete work and comment on it - order, even PRE-ORDER it. This site hopefully will allow performers some influence on the final product, thus increasing sales for that particular title, and helping producers all the more. State Of Mind Records was lucky enough to be one of the few selected to help run this site (very honored we are indeed!). Essentially we will be heading up all the online security, databasing, sales end, and content hosting. As well as taking on the job of being the central US distribution point for the new material being cycled through to the users that order the promos etc. from the artists. What producers will be involved? I am not allowed to tell names YET (I signed a confidentiality aggreement to work with them) - but what I can tell you is they have over 50 so far and they are definitly names you will know. What I can do, however, is tell all to Sign-up fast! The front page has been up a whole 36 hours and there are over 275 submissions so far! They are going to put a cap on how many people can join... and you need to list references to insure that you are an industry professional. If your references do not check out 100% - or if it is determined that you do NOT receive the majority of your income from the record industry - you will still have site access and be able to listen to the new material etc., but your access to pre-ordering promos will be restricted.Some of you have already written me personally to gain full access without registering. I will tell you ahead of time - I only manage the process... I am not the one responsible for choosing who gets what type of access. I did however make it clear to my counterparts in this project that you individuals would bring with them a great deal of knowledge and respect.So sign up asap... and we'll see what happens.
