I second the P/S pump, either that or a fault in the system causing it to go inactive like a relay/fuse or something of that sort.

I guess it depends on which car. True if you are thinking of high tech Mercedes and the likes. But for the rest of us low tech folks everything is strictly mechanical. true?Originally posted by cintron

Could be a leak in the line, no PS fluid. Hose broke.. etc.
