1) Agreed, dome would be ideal. However, tax payers dont want to pay for it. The city of Miami doesn't want to pay for it. Marlins dont want to pay for it. It's left to private funding...... 2) Not that South Florida fans suck, I believe they just come out whenever it is convienent for them. ie, winning season, championship berth. Back in 2003 when Marlins trumped the Yankees (note: I am an avid Yankee fan, i'm still not over it), there was so much love for this team and EVERYONE was a Marlins fan. The 2004 season rolled out and KERPLUNK...... 3) Building a new stadium closer to populated areas with accessible mass transit is the best possible solution. Gives everyone no excuse for going to games and supporting the team. IMO, the Marlins really need to solicit private funding, build their own stadium and stop paying rent for a football field. It would just make everything more legit. And if the fans really, really, really want a local pro baseball team, (one to take seriously) they need to get out there every chance they get... Otherwise the Marlins have no intrest to stay in Miami..........
