We at Blkmarket Membership love presenting label showcases that stand amongst the crowd. This year 2010 alone was the year of such showcases for Blkmarket Membership. In February we brought you the famous Crosstown Rebels 'Rebel Rave' party. In March we brought you the Cadenza label showcase. Blkmarket Membership would like to present Roman Flügel, Traversable Wormhole live along with Taimur & Fahad. Roman Flügel is one of the biggest names in the German dance scene and you can catch him at our party for a very rare stateside appearance here in New York. If you haven't heard DJ yet, you are in for a treat. Simply put, Roman Flügel is hands down one of the best DJ's in the business. He co-founded the very popular Ongaku and Klang record labels. One that everyone can relate to is the powerhouse Playhouse label which is definitely has been a label that has been a big inspiration for us at Blkmarket Membership. It's his label which Ricardo Villalobos released his critically acclaimed Alcachofa album on. It's his label that is also home to artists such as Isolee, LoSoul, Rework and Spektrum just to name a few. A man with many faces, Roman has produced under many aliases such as Sensorama, Acid Jesus, Eight Miles High, Soylent Green and Roman IV. Along with partner Jörn Elling Wuttke, they are known as the very popular live show duo called Alter Ego. They can be arguably considered as one of the major German dance acts in this scene. Some top dates have included Tribal Gathering Festival (UK), Sonar Festival (Spain), Time Warp Festival (Germany), I Love Techno (Belgium) and Wire Festival (Japan). We highly recommend that you do not miss out on catching Roman Flügel, so get ready of a very special EXTENDED SET by the man himself. Here is an amazing interview with Roman on Little White Earbuds to get you educated before our party. In 2009 a series of five anonymously produced ink stamped vinyl recorded releases appeared in the global techno scene under the mysterious guise “Traversable Wormhole." Within a month’s time of it’s conception Volume 2 of the series appeared and a huge buzz was soon amassed on the project. Accusations on who was the artist behind the project ran wild. People all over the techno scene had made theories to who was behind it. Word traveled fast through the wormhole and it was soon reported that globally respected dj’s such as Chris Liebing, Ben Klock, Marcel Dettmann, Mathew Herbert, Ryan Elliot, Andrew Galluzi, Surgeon, Function, Frankie Bones, Surgeon, DJ Deep & Radioslave were all supporting the sound of TW. As the series transgressed to Vol 5 by the year end of 2009 the mystique of anonymity continued to grow. To usher in the very start of 2010 “Traversable Wormhole” would release the sixth volume of the series. At the same time 20 year veteran techno artist/dj Adam X originally from NYC and now residing in Berlin was invited to partake in a feature called “Playing Favorites” on “Resident Advisor” the worlds biggest electronic music website. As Adam’s feature read towards the end he subtly took claim as the producer behind “Traversable Wormhole”. Currently “Traversable Wormhole” has found itself remixed from some of the best in the scene. The remix packages are being released on Chris Leibing's CLR label and artists such as Surgeon, Marcel Dettmann, Sleeparchive, Function, Chris Liebing, James Ruskin, Peter Van Hoesen, Terence Fixmer, Kevin Gorman, Tommy Four Seven & Brian Sanhaji have all taken a turn in remixing TW. As New York gears up for the second year of Electric Zoo Festival, the minds behind BlkMarket Membership, ReSolute and Esthetik are gearing up for another colaborative event. It’s one which will stay in your memories for many years to come. When a label is showcased, there is no other way than to present it in it's full on glory and with its biggest acts! On Sunday September 5th, Bpitch Control is making its way over the Big Apple with its queen who started it all, Ellen Allien. Along with her, the second in command, Sascha Funke will be bringing a kind of techno that sways between the polarity of emotional overload and concrete rationale. Kiki will be making his long awated return to New York and will be adding his unique style which encapsulate everything exciting about electronic music. Bloody Mary has recently launched her own record label titled Dame-Music. This label already proves to be something amazing with only having 2 full releases since June 2010. Bloody Mary's breakthrough came not to long ago with her 1st artist album 'Black Pearl' debuting on Jay Haze's Contexterrior label. The album includes colaborations with friends Argenis Brito, Danton Eeprom, a remix by Sascha Funke, and an edit by label boss Jay Haze. One of the better albums to have come out in 2009. Check it if you haven't already and get ready to enjoy a Bloody Mary out in the sun. Ion Ludwig first grabbed our attention with his productions on Butane's Alphahouse imprint in 2006. His cutting edge sound definitely put him ahead of the game as an artist to watch since he first hit the scene. Just recently, he released his debut album 'Free K Loudwiggle' 3xlpon his own imprint Quagmire which is fantastic. He's been under our radar for a very long time and we are very happy to announce his first ever exclusive appearance in the U.S. Ion Ludwig will be performing LIVE. Masomenos can clearly be titled as one of New Yorks favorite international duos. Hot off the press, their Balloons album has just recently been released and the vinyl version consists for double 12" packs in 4 parts: Green, Orange, Pink and Blue Balloons. All 4 parts are mind blowing and have been in our record boxes since their release. With only a few production releases and remixes, Nina Kraviz has become a favorite to many, both as a DJ and as a producer. She is part of Jus-Ed's Underground Quality family alongside DJ QU, Fred P, Levon Vincent and Anthony Parasole. Her track 'I'm Gonna Get You' that was released on Radio Slave's REKIDS easily gets the title of the sexiest record of 2009. Deepak Sharma has been a long time friend and one of the many artists who has contributed to the New York scene for quite sometime. Deepak's Hidden Recordings label has been gaining alot of recognition.
