Jay Tripwire is on his way to being legal after 2 years of being banned from the U.S. and he will be touring the states in May 2004.

I am just beginning to sort dates for him, so if you are interested in one, let me know and we can begin piecing things together.

he's a risk for dc, but it would be awsome getting him here aswell.

basically entered the country (hes a canadian resident) without a work permit for a gig. which nowadays is a big no no. he got banned from settin foot on good ol US soil for the next 5 years.

but the 5 years is up now and hes looking for gigs again

heres jays take on what exactly happened

"I have been djing in the USA for long time without a visa, and most djs I know go
there without a visa, because the visa seems to be very hard to get and the fact
I used to only play once in a while down there didn’t justify my needing to shell out
the cash for it. But as of lately I have been down there more and more, as my records are doing
well and people wanna see me play, and I had also intended to get the visa
for the new year. Since Seattle is only a 2 hour drive from where I live myself and my friend were
driving down, and we got stopped at the US customs where they asked us to
report to immigration. From there they searched the car and found the wax.
I think what tipped them off is that they looked at my passport full of work
visas for many other countries and so many entry stamps for the US recently
and not one US work visa. I had also lied and said I was going to see a show at a
club in Seattle, and the records (upon asked) belonged to my friends roommate
who she had borrowed the car from. At that point they had me pegged and knew
I was lying. They said don’t lie to us about this, we think you are a dj named JAY TRIPWIRE
(I was nailed) and what are you really doing. I told them that I was going to
do an instore appearance at a local store down there to promote my music.
From there they called the promoter who told them he was paying me (why he told
them that ill never understand), i was written up and banned for 5 years."

i got the notice off UGH. . . you have to call lori's office in chicago or email her at that address. . . she posted it a while ago, so i don't know if the tour's been set yet. . . how tight would that be if jay tripwire dropped us some goodies at blue room?!
