After over a decade of modern electronic dance music on US shores, the man repeatedly voted “Best DJ in the World”, is finally making an appearance at an event held by the crew that has repeatedly been voted “Best One Off promoter in the U.S.” That’s right boys and girls, Sasha is playing at an Ultraworld party! Not only is that something special in and of itself, but on this date, you’ll get a sneak preview of what will become the expanded Sonar night club in Baltimore. Already known by DJ’s the world over as a hot spot in the U.S., the club has acquired an additional 10,000 sq ft of space, and is building what promises to be one of the premier ‘main rooms’ in the world today. For this one off, we’ll be decking it out Ultraworld style; with projections, lighting, décor, and of course, the massive Turbosound sound systems we are known for.

How can such a small venue hire such expensive DJ's? At that absolutely sucks that it closes at 2. Is playing DC on his lil swing of the East Coast? Maybe at Nation?

sonar isn't going to be that small anymore. the took over the adjacent garage almost tripleing their space. they can handle something like this now.

i don't think they will be coming to dc. the rumor is they had a falling out with nation.

he was going to be at Glow on that date, but since FUR nightclub, where Glow is going to be located, was not going to be ready in time, Sonar took advantadge that he was in the area and booked him. Sonar has been booking some balance dj's in the past, so that prolly helped.

Given that the date was a Saturday, Nation couldn;t have done the party, it's Velvet on Saturday's and I don't think the regular Velvet patrons would've liked Sasha there, nor would Sasha would've liked to spin at Nation in their Velvet party.

and what discoballs said, they took up a lease in the area next to the club and expanded it.

even if they did expand it, it still can't be that large, can it? it's gonna be a cluster fuck in there...but then again, this is baltimore, the land of no fun.

I believe the isssue w/ naion is last time he was there he went on extremely late. I was told he was dead tired and was sleeping in the back. Regardless, I can see why nation would be upset, the place was packed.

I saw Sasha in bmore on haloween back 2 years ago and it was awsome. Looking forward to Sonar.

i just saw the new expansion at sonar. it's still under construction but this place is going to be huge.
