FINALLY KRUNK



This Saturday will be the FINAL KRUNK at South Beach, Bethesda. You heard it right, after a year and a half, the 'only spot in MoCo that serves up top DJs, massive drinks live performances, and open mic' will leave its place of origin. Having proudly served DC metro hip-hop w/ a shot and a smile, to say memories were made and families were bonded would be a gross understatement. We started (almost as a joke) well over a year ago as the self proclaimed bruise of Bethesda, with a busted PA and a few hopes. With your help, we quickly redefined what a GOOD TIME REALLY meant in 301. Despite concrete strength and support in recent weeks, we feel that in order to best serve our patrons it will be necessary to find a new home. Events of great magnitude are in the works and this brief downtime (perhaps for you but not for us) shall greatly assist us in spring-boarding the next best conquest. A thousand thanks to every MC, open mic vocalist, DJ and turntablist, loyal Krunker and fellow drunkard. It's only the thoughts of a lucrative near future that make it so bearable to step away from such an unbelievable past. Stay up to date, because if you know Titts, you know, "I never sleep, cause sleep is the cousin of death. I ain't the type of brother made for you to start testin.'"



I THOUGHT about scrounging up the residents to do one last blast but it wouldn't seem right with Dave in Equator, plus we'd rather spend time with fam! So we'll continue with our regularly scheduled program for one last time a la SoBe. Celebrate our departure alongside legendaries...



T*E*C*K : Having managed, purchased for and acquired the Baltimore location of Joe's Record Paradise, the term "IMPECCABLE SELECTION" doesn't even seem appropriate enough. Educated Consumers, ResiNation, T.K., Iridium, Chemical Dependent, only a few of the impressive names among the skilled lyricists fortunate enough to have shined with T*E*C*K* productions. However tonight, we offer you a very special treat... a rare occasion to experience the man on the SOLO TIP. Needing no introduction but deserving of every hard earned word... do NOT miss this one.



BLAKE 9 : Continuing the night's theme of those just as talented behind the decks as in the studio, we proudly present Blake 9. Forthcoming production for Time Machine, Mr. Nine gladly helps bring Krunk to its next chapter with classic plates and underground gems (with occasional sprinkles of commercial goodness for a perfect holiday seasoning). Blake9 steps out of the studio where he's working on the release of Deluxe Laminated (The second 12inch offering from Nine:Fifteen) and his new mix cd Vol.5.

Just a quick update... in addition to having a rare solo DJ appearance from the one and only T*E*C*K* and Krunk favorite, crate digger BLAKE 9, we will be celebrating the birthday of Ken Kaotix. With all of the migration craziness, I've uncharacteristically left out a very important occasion and even MORE hot talent!

Please make it out early for Konkrete Jungle resident MC Stamina Darcsun (StaDa), who will be dropping some hot verses and helping to head off our open mic freestyle session. Do not miss this opportunity to celebrate Krunk's goodbye, Ken's B-day, top shelf DJ talent and one of stateside raga's best!! Ken, please forgive me for my oversight.
