Promoters?

I happened to notice in someone's post in the other topic that they regarded promoters with some suspicion, or something like that. This question has been poking at me for a while. What do you all think about promoters? Please be specific in what you like/hate about them, what they do, and how they do it. Thanks for letting me pick your brains!!

Hmmm...I dunno about promoters. Well I guess I'm a dumbass about who is a promoter. Are we talking about the guys who email you begging you to come to the party and then snub you when you actually get there? Or are we talking the whole production sponsoring the event? If the first, I personally don't like them. Unless I had boobies I wouldn't be able to get on list or cut to the front of the line.

My worst experience is probably when Element had their grand opening last year in February. I went with a group of 3 guys and 4 girls and they hand picked people they wanted in which of course we're the girls. So that's a pisser.

I don't like it when promoters hire college/high school henchman and actually call me up to see if I want list. I already get the email.

Basically I think they are kinda snotty and full of themselves. A powertrip cause they can get you in free or not or just bar you from coming in at all.

I could be wrong though. Promoters can be nice warm fuzzy people. As long as you got the right *ahem* equipment.
