CLUB DESCRIPTION
The champagne and caviar of DC nightlife, MCCXXIII attracts a well dressed,
upscale crowd. Mix, mingle, and dance downstairs or head upstairs to the VIP
area, where you can reserve a couch and order a bottle of the finest wine or
champagne. For many 'in-the-know', MCCXXIII is the place to be and be seen!
MCCXXIII is aesthetically stunning. Sharing claims to a contemporary design, it
hosts a myriad of different architectural and artistic platforms. Brilliant blue
and green walls grace the interior. Rustic exposed brick walls compliment the
stone and copper detailing that accents the entire lounge. Gothic size wall
hangings showcase original abstract and impressionistic talent. The grand
centerpiece, created by artist Paul Lee, which ascends from the first floor bar
through the opening of the elaborate second floor, is one of the most notable
works. Amazing two-story illuminated fabric columns, subtle and warm
candlelight, and unique hand-blown light fixtures combine to create a majestic
effect.
Courtly velvet couches and mosaic dinner tables are situated between the
beautiful Romanesque columns located on the first floor. For Preferred Customer
Cardholders, the second floor offers additional amenities that those with
discerning taste will appreciate. An illuminated steel catwalk, which overlooks
the first floor, connects the small exclusive bar area to a private lounge that
houses plush red and blue velvet couches. One can truly relax while enjoying a
bottle of vintage wine and marveling at the magnificent view of Connecticut
Avenue through a vast wall of windows. No other lounge in the area provides you
with a more dazzling view of the city.
Lastly, but definitely not least, is the charming dance floor. Located only a
few steps from the lavish soapstone bar on the first floor, which is home to the
city’s most beautiful bartenders, sits the copper-accented dance area.
