The best place for 2004 would have to be Eyebar. Opening in mid-2004, Eyebar became quickly popular with their cover-free Saturday night party. Anyone used to be able to get in but this changed as their popularity increased; you now need to be on the guestlist or at least know someone who works there, which isn't at all hard if you are determined.
