For ten years I have called myself a good father to my ten-year-old daughter. The reality is I was distant and estranged simply because the relationship with her mother didn't go the way I expected, and my relationship with my own father was strained. In the last six months, I have recreated incredible relationships with my father and daughter, and my life has taken a 360-degree turn toward the future. There are so many fathers whose relationships with their children could be improved immensely. I want them to see that there is help for them, they are not alone and it is never too late to make that difference. Just imagine what a different world this would be if everyone had an incredible, loving relationship with Dad!
I am organizing an event called Project Pop-lock to take place August 26th in DC for which all proceeds will go to charities that promote, generate and support healthy father/child relationships. I have spoken with Colin from Shiloh, the DJ/Producer duo from Canada who burst onto the underground music scene a few years ago. Colin and Justin (Shiloh) have played all over the world, have produced and remixed some of the hottest progressive house and breaks tracks around and have just released a full length album of original & remixed material. They have never played in the Nation's Capital and are interested in headlining this event. Project Pop-lock has the ability to make a huge impact on our community, and I am looking for volunteers and investors. If this cause interests you, or you just want to give me some feedback, I will be eternally grateful. Thank you.
