BAILEY [ 1XTRA | Metalheadz ] - UK

Over the past few years Bailey has gone from strength to strength which was confirmed when he was picked by BBC 1Xtra to be part of their starting line-up with his own show every Sunday night from 10pm-12am for which after only being on air one year he was awarded ‘Best Radio Show’ at the prestigious Knowledge Magazine Awards (2003). Other achievements include a whole host of mix compilations for the likes of Ministry Of Sound, Black Label (France), BreakBeat Science (USA) and Knowledge Magazine. Although first and foremost a DJ: It’s also important to note Bailey’s capacity as a producer, which has seen him commissioned to do remixes for the likes of Roni Size & A Guy Called Gerald whilst gaining interest from Metalheadz: label boss Goldie in particular; with whom he has a release scheduled for the early part of 2006. Bailey has also set up his very own imprint: Intasound for the most part due to all the quality music that he’s sent to play on his BBC 1Xtra show.

SUB FOCUS [ Ram Records | Frequency ] - UK

Ram Record’s rising star continues to achieve the impossible with every single release selling in excess of 10,000 units. Including the likes of ‘X-Ray’, ‘Frozen Solid’ and his latest triumph the mighty ‘Aeroplane’ which has been supported for months by everyone from Andy C to Pete Tong! Sub Focus is currently working on his debut artist album which holds all the promise of being something truly special, dubs from the album including ‘Special Place’ and ‘Swamp Thing’ are being heavily featured in Andy C’s latest sets and causing a whirlwind each and every time.

NU:TONE [ Hospital | Brand Nu ] - UK

Since signing to Hospital in 2003 Nu:Tone has come through the ranks to become one of the most highly respected producers in the scene, with everyone from LTJ Bukem to Dillinja busting his tunes. Nu:Tone’s remix’s are always guaranteed to please – whether it’s the retro soul of his Spreadlove anthem or the junglist wobble of his Strictly Social Re-rub.

His debut album “BRAVE NU WORLD” dropped in 2005 with all of the Drum & Bass' hierarchy supporting it. DJs Norman Jay M.B.E and Tom Middleton also made Nu:Tone a favourite of their eclectic sets. Off the back of this success Nu:Tone has taken his DJing all over the world spreading hospital love from the USA to Asia to Australia. Somehow he has also found the time to remix Alice Russell, Quantic and produce a track for Jenna G.

After a short break creating a mini Nu:Tone, Dan has found time between nappy changes to finish 2006 with two brilliant drum and bass hors-d'oeuvres. “Things That Lovers Do” and “Missing Link” should get your mouth watering for some more Nu:Tone production next year. Keep It Locked!

BOBBY JAE [ Upfront | 5DNB ] - DC

Mastering the sounds of DC drum and bass, Bobby Jae never fails with his impeccable mixing and top-notch selection. Be sure to check out Bobby Jae's new highly anticipated mix, Upfront Drum n' Bass. This follow up to his URB Mix It Best classic, Perpetual Motion, is a veritable showcase of the liquid, funky sounds that many artists on the Upfront Industries roster are currently cultivating.

HITOI [ Upfront | EXBC ] - DC

Hitoi's flavor of dnb is strongly influenced by her house background with groovy melodies and catchy basslines. Favoring labels such as Hospital and Commercial Suicide and artists including Commix and Artificial Intelligence, her unique sound turning heads locally and beyond.

MC SHARPNESS [ TEKDBZ | Mental Sharp ] - PHI

A true master of ceremonies, MC Sharpness will bless the mic with lyrical finesse and unmatched crowd control. One half of dynamic duo Mental Sharp, Jay and partner Armanni have been rockin clubs around the world with residencies in LA, Bmore, Philly, NYC and DC. Currently busy on tour with Goldie and Craze, check out as Sharpness makes a unique solo appearance at 5DNBsessions tonight.
