| **DAVID GUETTA** GLOW – Washington D.C. – www.ClubGlow.com Saturdays at f.u.r. nightclub -Saturday March 10th DAVID GUETTA (DavidGuetta.com) Opening set by GEORGE KARMOKOLIAS (myspace.com/thekarmidance) David Guetta is a household name in France, with two gold albums to his name, but it’s only in the past few years that he has captured the world’s attention as both a super-star DJ and acclaimed producer. He crafts hook-laden but cool pop songs with cutting-edge electronic beats. David drives himself to make Dance music that reaches beyond clubbers and takes the essence of his late night indulgences into the hearts and homes of everyman. Guetta regularly makes his own DJ tools/edits of his favorite records to spin out. When he and production partner Joachim Garraud took the Tocadisco remix of The Egg’s, “Walking Away” and layered the incredible Chris Willis vocal over it, they knew they’d re-created something very special. The mash-up has blown to be the hottest dance track of the Ibiza season and crossed pop to be a No 3 smash in the UK. And with equal success second time around in France, “Love Don’t Let Me Go” has proved itself to be a song with timeless, classic appeal. The success of Guetta’s first album heralded the beginning of a new DJ career – this time on a global level. Now Guetta headlines throughout Europe on a regular basis and, more and more often, in the United States, Australia, Japan, Singapore and beyond. It’s this unrelenting passion to spin live in the clubs every weekend which sets him apart from your average pop-stars. He’s humble too, which makes him so accessible to his fans. You will often find him swapping tune-talk with clubbers after his set. In 2005 David won DJ of The Year at the House Music awards in London, Live Set Of The Year and Event of WMC for the first F*** Me I'm Famous event to hit Miami. He was the highest New Entry in the DJ Mag Top 100 Poll - and nominated for a prestigious Grammy for his Flashdance remix. Though he does only a few mixes of other peoples work, Guetta has earned the respect of some of his idols along the way. Bowie rated Guetta’s version of “Heroes” (another “club tool”) so much he gave his blessing for a full release. And David couldn’t say no to Kylie, Cassius or The Eurythmics. David’s second album, GUETTA BLASTER, released in 2005 was even gutsier than the first. David and Joachim Garraud (co-composer and co-producer) created real songs modeled on electro-pop classics of the 80s by such masters as Depeche Mode, Yazoo, Dead Or Alive and New Order, but all original compositions. The gospel sounds of Chris Willis remain most present along with guest vocalists JD Davis, James Perry and Britain’s Stereo MCs and Jamaican darling Miss Thing. Incredibly, David still finds time to promote parties, albeit led by his fabulous wife, Cathy. Born in Ibiza and now calendar staples in Paris, Cannes, London, New York, Miami and beyond. ‘F*** Me I’m Famous’ is an indulgent and decadent mix of both the music and fashion scenes with crazy-cool clubbers. They are unique - rock and film stars; moguls and models mixing with die-hard Dance fans. The mix CDs of the same name are collectables and are helping to establish FMIF as one of the world’s coolest brands. And it’s a DJ driven record label too.
