Thomas Blondet (a.k.a. DJ Tom B)

http://www.traxsource.com/202_Digital

Thomas Blondet (aka Tom B) is a Washington DC DJ regarded highly for his impeccable taste and understanding of music. Revered locally and nationally as much for his technical ability as he is for his experience behind the decks, Tom B has for the past 15 years held residencies in several influential DC dance clubs, notably the legendary Club Red. He is currently at the Eighteenth Street Lounge and Club Five on Fridays and Saturdays respectively. Starting at age 14, inspired by the early sounds of Mr Fingers and Masters At Work, Tom developed an informed musical palette. He went on to the natural progression of music production after solidifying his roots on dance floors along the East Coast. In the studio, Tom's House and Latin music influences come to the forefront with releases on Odds and Ends and Rhythm & Culture Recordings, to name a few. With remix credits for such artists as Vivian Green on Sony Music and Marlon D on Jellybean Recordings, Tom B is concentrating on building and expanding his catalogue and pursuing his passion for deejaying. With more tracks ready for release in addition to critical acclaim, Thomas Blondet has truly come into his own.

In addition to all of that, Tom also runs his own label, 202 Digital and is largely responsible for engineering the forthcoming See-I full length album "Homegrown". Over the years Tom has branched out from house music to play D&B, 2-Step, dub, downtempo and reggae. You can read more in a special Cakewalk interview here: http://www.cakewalk.com/Artist/ThomasBlondet.asp

here are 2 recent Tom B mixes for download:

THE I*TERNALS featuring AKSHAN
http://www.myspace.com/theiternals
http://www.myspace.com/akshanmusic

This original reggae band, coming from the heart of Babylon, is here to spread the message of love, peace, and consciousness to everyone. The I*Ternals are reverting back to the classic sound of reggae yet sound combines dub, roots, lover's rock, and jazz to create the future sound of reggae. ****Lyrical content is very important. The I*Ternals produce a unique sound, with ghostly lyrics, hard hitting drums, heavy bass lines, and moving melodies in the minor key. Come join the revolution that is REGGAE music, help us deliver the ONE true message- Equal rights and justice for all. Our sound is the past, present, and the future, hence the name...The I*TERNALS. -----The I*Ternals' debut album will be released in 2007---- The I*Ternals have performed at the following revered venues: The State Theater,The 9:30 Club, Sonar, and Jammin Java***** Be sure to catch the song “Always Deserve My Love,” performed by Akshan and members of The I*Ternals, featured in the new movie, BLACKOUT. This full length film about the New York City Blackout of 2003, whose cast members include Mario Van Peebles and Jeffrey Wright, will debut at the Tribeca Film Festival.

Akshan, born Nickia Palmer in the hills of rural St. Mary, Jamaica is a gifted artist with confidence and a command of stage that categorizes him with any of today’s top performers. Combining elements of Reggae's past with a new vision and style, his sound is uniquely lyrical yet refreshing for the novice listener. Akshan is "creatively un-inhibited," blending melodic Reggae chants with today’s prevalent Hip Hop culture to create a contemporary rhythm-driven sound that will appeal to anyone with an ear for music. His unique sound is an indication of the impact that variety and openness has on artistic growth.

SEE-I
www.myspace.com/seei

The SEE-I Band
is most famous locally for its 18 month long Wednesday night residency ROCKAS INTERNATIONAL at the Eighteenth Street Lounge. Whether in the Gold Room indoors, or out on the rooftop deck The See-I Massive rocks the party each and every wednesday night, often with some very special guests. Half of the SEE-I Band are in Thievery Corporation, and it is Rootz & Zeebo's superb vocals you've heard on Thievery tracks like "38.45" and "Focus on Sight". The band consists of many talented members who bring various influences from their own side projects with Fort Knox Five, Nayas, Soul Brazil, International Velvet and more. See-I is roots reggae through and through, but often switches it up with some funk, soul, latin & brazilian flavors for good measure.

Band Members:
Zeebo Steele - Vocals
Rootz Steele - Vocals
Rob Myers - Guitar
Javier Miranda - Percussion
Names Thompson - Drums
Salem Steele - Keyboards
Steve Sachse - Bass
Frank Mitchell - Saxophone

SEE-I are putting the finishing touches on their latest album "HOMEGROWN", a follow up to their earlier releases "Dinner of Herb" & "Special Operations". Thomas Blondet is engineering the new album - be on the lookout for brand new original material, tracks such as "How U Living", "Crime", "The King", "How Could You" and the title track "Homegrown". You can check some of these tunes out on the See-I page, as well as the Magic Fly (UK) remix of "The King" and the Rodney Hunter (G-Stone - Austria) remix of "How Could You".
