| M3 and Upfront Industries LLC present: ![]() Rinse Magazine and District Soul sponsored event ![]() CHASE & STATUS [ Ram Records | Bingo ] - UK Since the birth of their Drum and Bass career in 2004, things have been moving extremely rapidly for this London based duo. From their debut release on Renegade Hardware (a remix of Future Cut's 20/20), a continuous output of quality music has followed, catapulting Chase and Status into the premiership of Drum and Bass. Chase and Status continue to work harder than ever and have had a busy start to 2007 with the release of two huge remixes. Firstly there was their take on Brockie & Ed Solo's classic 'Represent' on Undiluted and shortly after saw the acclaimed remix of Plan B’s - 'No Good' on 679. The pair recently signed exclusively with Andy C & Red One's label, Ram Records. April 2007 saw the duo's debut Ram release with 'Dumpling Riddim' B/W 'Disco' which went straight in at Number 1 in the 1xtra Drum and Bass charts and Number 2 in the National Dance Charts on BBC Radio 1. Forthcoming, is the Chase and Status remix of, Mercury Music Prize winner, Dizzee Rascal's 'Sirens' on XL Recordings, and an exciting, highly anticipated album set for early next year, which will showcase the incredible versatility of these talented producers. ![]() COMMIX [ Metalheadz | Hospital ] - UK **Call to Mind LP Tour** Commix is the alias of Cambridge duo Guy Brewer and George Levings, who have been producing music for the past 6 years. Since their first forays onto vinyl on DJ SS' Formation imprint and close ally Nu:Tone's label, they've released tracks for labels including C.I.A, Hospital Records and Horizons Music, becoming popular with a multitude of top DJs including Fabio, DJ Flight, Lee, Marcus Intalex and DJ Marky. After originally being a trio, Commix became two in 2004, and since that time their sound has taken on an edgier and more wide-ranging style, with their diverse range of musical influences shining through in their music. In 2005, the mighty Metalheadz picked up on a selection of tracks - one being Satellite Song (which quickly became an anthem with the likes of Goldie and Randall), appearing on the MDZ05 compilation, as well as Urban Legend and If I Should Fall, combining to make up a critically acclaimed 12" on Metalheadz. With Goldie then offering the duo an album deal, Commix became the first artist to release an album on what is for many people the most important label in drum&bass to this day. This album is set for release in Summer 2007, and from the few samples that the DJ elite have been dropping in their sets of late it's set to be quite a project. As well as all this, Commix tracks and remixes are also appearing on Subtitles, Horizons Music, Dispatch and others, and their DJ sets are becoming hugely in demand across the globe, as trips across Europe, Asia, North America, South America and the UK hold testament.
