The Montreal-born Antoine and Adam were first discovered by superstar DJ Paul Van Dyk when he was handed a copy of their first track “Empire†at legendary club Twilo in New York. Not only did the German DJ sign them to his label Vandit, but also collaborated with the duo on the single “Crush†from his “Reflections†album. The chart topping single became a trance anthem, the album earned a Grammy nomination and after more hugely popular singles with Vandit, Second Sun’s reputation as a quality dance act was already proven. It was in 2006 that Second Sun started making waves in the house scene. After their remix of Queen’s “Another one Bites the Dust†became one of the biggest tracks of 2006’s winter music conference, the remix requests came poring in from artists like Sander Kleinenberg & The Shapeshifters and labels like Ministry of Sound, Toolroom, and Ultra Records. Another important remix was for Sharam’s massive hit “PARTY ALL THE TIMEâ€, which also featured Antoine’s vocals. In 2008, even the rock world came in with remix requests, notably the internationnally renowned band 30 Seconds to Mars for their single «A Beautiful Lie» (Virgin/EMI). That’s just on the production tip. Second Sun is also a live act that can destroy any club or festival stage. They do it every weekend playing shows all over North & South American and Europe. And having played festivals like Global Gathering (UK), Ultra Music Festival (US), Gatecrasher Summer Soundsystem (UK), Planet Love (Ireland), the South American Music Conference (Argentina & Ecuador), Nocturnal Wonderland (US), the Summer Dance Festival (Colombia), HMF (Brazil) and Bal en Blanc (Canada), Antoine and Adam thrive in front of giant crowds that have reached the 20 000 mark. They've also rocked the world's leading clubs in cities like New York, Berlin, London, Los Angeles, Toronto, Buenos Aires, Miami, Mexico City, Chicago, Sao Paulo and countless others. Even less obvious countries from El Salvador to Lithuania have been graced with the Second Sun sound. “We’re trying to bring a certain element of showmanship back to dance music. We’re not Djs, we’re live musical performers. Since we come from a rock band backround, we’ve always wanted to bring a rock-show like feel to dance music†says the classically-trained frontman Antoine. At the end of 2008, Second Sun will release their new single «Golden» on Ultra Records. With it's latin guitar hook, partytime techno beat and even a rap in the radio edit, it's easy to hear how Second Sun blended all these musical influences that surround them in their home town of Miami to create this truly unique dancefloor destroyer!

Location: 33 Patterson Street, NE Hours of Operation: 9:30PM-3:30AM Metro: Red Line to New York Avenue Age Limit: 18+ A blend of sleek electronic rhythms, lush filmic textures and old-fashioned songwriting, "Tri-State" is the fulfilment of any dance act's ultimate album aspiration: a padding-free, skilled, diverse long-player. In a word "brilliant". 5/5- DJ Magazine There are DJs who can rock a party, a club, a festival. And there are acts that can write songs that will bring out the goose bumps in you. But there's only one band that can do both: Above & Beyond. This three piece have remixed Madonna, won Essential Mix of the Year, and played to one million people in Rio de Janeiro. More importantly they've written songs with the power and the melody to en-trance that one million-strong crowd, many of whom were singing along, word for word. Above & Beyond make music, pure and simple. That music happens to be electronic. And it connects. "We're a group", says Above & Beyond founder Tony McGuinness. "And what we're trying to do is exactly do that, connect with people. You try and describe something in your own life, but in a way that will resonate with other people. When you see people singing along as passionately as they do, I guess youre getting it right". This makes Above & Beyond unique, not just in trance, but in popular music as well. "We like to think of ourselves as songwriters first," says Paavo Siljamaki, who with Jono Grant makes up the trio. "That's our approach to music. The most challenging thing is to write a song that really touches the listener." Above & Beyond are not people who like to do things by halves. Witness their latest release, "Anjunabeats 100" , a collection of the very best tracks from their universally respected Anjunabeats label. The album also includes a DVD documentary, which captures the two shows the band played over Christmas and New Year 2007. First they travelled to Goa, India, the spiritual home of trance and their label Anjunabeats, to play an unforgettable sunset set at an open-air beach festival. Days later they flew to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, another stronghold of the international trance sound, to headline a New Year's Eve show on Barra de Tijuca beach in front of one million people. Dressed in the traditional white of Brazilian New Year, Above & Beyond captivated Rio with a set that was truly magical. Many of that crowd were fans who had travelled from all over Brazil. "It was life-changing," says Tony. "It was amazing to look out and see that many people. In some ways it was too big to comprehend!" From club gigs in Eastern Europe to major festivals like Coachella in California, Above & Beyond have the ability to entrance audiences. Their music has grandeur and melody, but i's edged with steel too. There are dark shadows but sweet moments too. And it's bigger than any genre. Trance is too small a word for what they do. All three are experienced musicians who know their way around a studio without the need for engineers. Tony McGuinness was marketing director for Warner Brothers Records - but for years previously was the guitarist/songwriter of cult indie band Sad Lovers & Giants. Asked to organize a remix of Chakra's "Home" in 2000, he joined together with Jono Grant and Paavo Siljamaki - and Above & Beyond was born. By coincidence we ended up putting three individuals with complimentary and different talents into the mix," says Tony. Pete Tong quickly latched on to their talents: that debut remix for Chakra quickly reached Number One on the club charts. It's been a rollercoaster ride ever since. Jono Grant first discovered dance music when he borrowed his brother James's cassette of Paul Oakenfold's classic Goa mix - and fell in love with its sweeping melodrama. He was already training as a classical pianist and played guitar. But that mix inspired him to start building his own studio, taking on part time jobs to buy bits and pieces of equipment. "I managed to save up enough money from mowing the lawn to buy a drum machine," he laughs. By the time he arrived at London's University of Westminster, he had a small, yet compact studio, which completely filled his tiny 4 x 2 metre university room. His first production was a remix of Strike's Top Five hit "U Sure Do". Paavo had arrived at the same university from his native Finland, where he had already fallen in love with electronic music and composed music for theatre. Also classically trained on cello and piano, he was studying music business. The two met one beery night in university halls and Jono proceeded to play his latest productions. "I love this kind of music," Paavo told Jono. "Let's write a track together." Jono loved the idea. They pooled their studio resources in one mad taxi dash, and Anjunabeats was born. It is now one of the most famous labels on the world stage. In 2001, Above & Beyond remixed Madonna's "What It Feels Like For A Girl" after Tony talked his way into her manager's office - and into a remix. "We were pitching for the stars at that point," smiles Paavo. Tony's charm paid off when Madonna used their mix for her controversial hot rod rampage video, directed by her husband Guy Ritchie. When she phoned, requesting some minor changes, Tony was in flagrante with his girlfriend. He took the call though. Well, if Madonna calls" Other remixes have included Dido's "Sand In My Shoes" and Britney Spears's "Everytime". Their first single proper, 2002's "Far From In Love" with Kate Cameron, quickly became a dance anthem. In 2006 Above & Beyond released their first artist album "Tri-State" which was greeted with rave reviews. "Brilliant," said DJ Magazine. "The ultimate fulfillment of any dance act's ambition." The sheer quality of the songwriting on this album shone through as it swept from euphoric melodies to atmospheric down-tempo moments. Above & Beyond had most certainly arrived. "Tri-State was our first attempt at writing an album," says Paavo. "We felt the perfect album wouldn't be 12 club tracks but a collection of songs that take you on a journey. It took over a year to do it. There were moments where we weren't really sure. But in the end we feel we made something we could be proud of." One of the album's many standouts is "Alone Tonight" - a song Tony wrote after a relationship break-up. Its otherworldly melodies and heartfelt vocal performance from Richard Bedford resonate with audiences all over the world. "Alone Tonight" really does connect with people," says Jono. "A lot of people who go to clubs are single, and that song is about being in a relationship but feeling alone. So it resonates with both groups of people." Under their OceanLab alias, used working with singer/songwriter Justine Suissa, they also produced the unforgettable "Satellite". Again, there's a lyric with universal appeal - which Tony wrote about Paavo and his Japanese wife, when both were on opposite sides of the world - coupled with melodies to make you shiver and a vocal drenched in emotion. It too has become a vocal trance classic and live favourite. Yet Above & Beyond aren't just consummate musicians and songwriters, they are also world class DJs. Their Trance Around The World radio show airs on over 15 FM, Internet and Satellite stations worldwide. They began their DJing career in grand style in 2002, in front of 8,000 people in Tokyo. Since then they have become globetrotting DJ superstars. In 2004 they won Essential Mix of the Year, proving just how deftly they navigate the full spectrum of melodic dance music, with sets that cross genres with ease and that encompass the trancier side of house, progressive and techno. And each year they rise inexorably higher in the prestigious DJ Magazine poll: from 39, to 19, from nine to their current placing at six. "To be among such great DJs is a real honour," says Paavo, with a humility typical of the band. "There are people above and below that I really, truly respect." What audiences around the world also respond to is the professionalism and enthusiasm that Above & Beyond bring to their art. There is a warmth about the trio that people love. Tony is the one who gives it all on stage. "Tony is really the rock n' roll star of the whole crew. He's the guy with the most experience, in life, in many things," says Paavo, "and he still manages to be the kid of the group." Tony sums up his band members with equal enthusiasm. "Jono is ambivalent about the incredible talent he has. He has a lot of energy, he is fearless when he's DJing and is always in a good mood." If Jono's contribution is an effortless musicality, says Tony, Paavo adds heart and soul. "What he brings in a sense is how to bring out the emotion in a track." The ongoing Above & Beyond world tour continues. And the band have just returned from Ibiza, where, prolific as ever, they have been recording an OceanLab album with Justine Suissa that is even more widescreen in its vision, says Jono, than "Tri-State". They work instinctively as a team, constantly striving to get better. "You get more out of life by collaborating," notes Tony. "We're always trying to grow, we're always trying to learn and we're always trying to get better at what we do." And what they do is make music with melody, movement - and meaning. Music, in short, that matters to people across the globe. "You can do stuff that is popular without selling out," says Jono. "If you do something of good quality, people respond to that." Which is why even when they are half a world away, audiences always make Above & Beyond feel at home.

Arguably best known for his work with Rick Smith and Karl Hyde, Darren joined Underworld when he was 18 years old, the band released three albums: ‘Dubnobasswithmyheadman', ‘Second Toughest in the Infants' and ‘Beaucoup Fish'. Underworld have sold over a million albums worldwide, featured two tracks on Danny Boyles Oscar nominated classic "Trainspotting" and are renowned for their stunning and unpredictable live shows. The hits include Cowgirl, Rez, Dark and Long and Born Slippy – all classics. 2000 saw Emerson leave Underworld and go solo. Although the band had been his passion for 10 years, it was time to branch out; concentrate on his record label and work with different producers. The first collaboration saw Emerson and DJ cohort Sasha produce the Ibiza classic ‘Scorchio'. Two Global Underground compilations soon followed; ‘Uruguay' and ‘Singapore' and the hugely succesfull Underwater Episodes. All proving that Emerson was back to doing what he does best; showcasing everything from deeper house through to jackin' techno cuts. Darren has also remixed tracks for everyone from The Prodigy to Everything But The Girl and Gus Gus. In 1994 Darren Emerson started Underwater records, initially to release music for his friends, the label has seen releases from Steve Mac, Paul Woolford, Josh Wink, Gus Gus, Joel Mull, Smith & Selway, Paul Jackson, and Tim Deluxe – whose ‘Sirens/ We All Love Sax' and ‘It Just Won't Do' helped put Underwater firmly on the map. In 2003 Underwater was voted label of the year by DJ Mag and continues to go from strength to strength releasing albums and singles from its ever growing and increasingly varied roster of artists. Darren recently released his third Global Underground compilation 'Bogota'. His debut solo artist album is now finished and will be backed with a plethora of club tracks meanwhile he continues his relentless globe trotting DJ schedule.

He started dj-ing when he ws still at school and has been producing with his cousin Alle Benassi for about ten years at Off Limits studios. His first as a producer was with the track "I feel so fine" by KMC feat. Dhany which went to n°1 in the UK club charts in 2001. The following year, working under the BENNY BENASSI presents THE BIZ trademark, Benny and Alle came up with "Satisfaction" and in one fell swoop ravaged the dancefloors and dominated sales charts round the world. The album “Hypnotica" followed. In the meantime Benny and Alle produced more melodic dance music under the Benassi Bros. banner. The charts of half the planet gave them thumbs up. The Benassis have also remixed artists such as Outkast, David Guetta, Moby, Goldfrapp, Paul Oakenfold, Faithless and Public Enemy, to name but a few. Benny has won tons of prizes and awards around the world and continues to tour the five continents with his unique style, once described as "electro, sort of house-tec, dirty and cool, sweaty and smooth". In 2008 Benny and Alle won a Grammy Award for his remix of Public Enemy’s “Bring the noiseâ€. The new album “Rock n Rave†contains tracks featuring Black Box, Farenheit, Dino Lenny, Mia J, Public Enemy, Channing and Iggy Pop. His own productions are released through Energy Productions in Italy and Ultra in U.S.A. At the same time, Benny talent scouts for his own brand new label, Pump-kin, designed to create space for young djs and producers of electronic club music.

The Dutch superstar has consistently been voted one of the top 10 DJs in the world (according to DJ magazine’s definitive Top 100 DJ chart) for five years. He’s played for hundreds of thousands of fans – sometimes at once – in amphitheaters, fields and nightclubs from Australia to Russia to white-hot Ibiza. He took the party island’s “Best Trance DJ†prize at the annual DJ Awards ceremony this year and two years ago; got tailed by some road-tripping fans on a Southern Comfort-sponsored, 26-city bus tour of America; and had his life’s work interpreted in music, video and décor at his annual Masquerade event “Full on Ferryâ€, at 12,000-capacity arena Ahoy in his hometown, Rotterdam, The Netherlands. It’s all in a year’s work for the man who’s been called the “architect, pioneer, and instigator†of trance music’s global dominance. But within the close-knit international DJ community, Corsten’s regarded as something else too: A studio auteur with a fierce sense of sonic rightness; a real-deal producer who works solo, sans engineer, and creates the most complete, energetic, melodic records in dance music. His style is so singular that synthesizer manufacturer Roland commissioned a Corsten sound bank for their new SP-555 sampling unit. But it’s so broad that it could meld with Public Enemy’s classic cut “Bring The Noise,†on a Corsten remix that Chuck D himself called “the ultimate concoction of pace, energy and lyrics.†The world first experienced Corsten’s dance floor wallop in 1999, when the young and hungry artist created aptly named track “Out Of The Blue†(recorded under his System F moniker). It was the first of his eight Dutch gold records, and 10 U.K. Top 40 hits, the most ever by a trance producer. He released his debut album, “Right Of Way,†in 2003; and the groundbreaking “L.E.F.†– containing Duran Duran collaboration “Fire†– in 2006, which debuted at No. 1 on the iTunes dance chart. A keen sonic curator, Corsten serves as the head honcho for his record labels, Flashover Recordings, Aleph, Boom tssjak, and Levare. On his new XM Radio show, “Corsten’s Countdown,†he debuts new tracks every week and lets his faithful listeners – on the radio, and online – vote on their favorites for the month’s final chart. The show is the first of its kind to engage fans worldwide, and give them a direct hand in predicting and creating hits. Corsten has also used his high profile for good, serving as an ambassador for the KidsRights Foundation, which increases awareness of the plight of disadvantaged children worldwide. He boasts his own clothing line, Signature F, via Washington, D.C.-based iKY Clothing. Is Ferry Corsten a globe-trotting, club-packing, beat-dropping superstar DJ? Most definitely. But that's just the beginning of the story...one that's still being written.

Location: 33 Patterson Street, NE Hours of Operation: 9:30PM-3:30AM Metro: Red Line to New York Avenue Age Limit: 18+ There are few artists that can lay claim to conquering the underground as well as the mainstream, yet Ali ‘Dubfire’ Shirazinia has managed to dominate both. In fact, he’s setting the musical agenda for others to follow in his footsteps. As one-half of the legendary electronic partnership, Deep Dish, Dubfire has won Grammys, released hit singles, remixed music’s biggest names and rocked the world’s most respected venues. Their last album, 2005’s ‘George is On’, catapulted their name into the mainstream charts and saw the duo crisscross the globe. The album peaked at 3 in Billboard’s Electronic Album Chart. Scaling the dizzy heights of dance music left both Dubfire and his partner, Sharam Tayebi, wanting a creative break to pursue solo projects and express themselves in new ways, but no one was quite prepared for what Dubfire did next. In keeping with his obsessive love of music -- spanning punk, industrial/new wave, jazz, dub, hip-hop, house and techno -- Dubfire set out to push the musical boundaries and challenge the dance scene’s preconceptions by going back to his roots. His release ‘I Feel Speed’ illustrated his new sound with a nod to his influences and saw him step up to the microphone for vocal duties, setting the bar for what was to be a huge year in his career. As tracks such as ‘Roadkill’ and ‘Ribcage’ were released, an avalanche of accolades emerged, including an invitation to mix the covermount CD for Mixmag, front covers of Raveline and DJ Magazine, an Essential Mix for the UK’s Radio 1, and glowing write-ups from Beatportal to Resident Advisor. The praise was universal. With a barrage of remixes and productions on respected labels (including Cocoon, Get Physical, Minus, and Rekkids) earning him acclaim from his DJ and producer peers, Dubfire shocked and inspired the industry in one masterstroke! In 2007, Dubfire took another huge step forward with the launch of his label, Science + Technology Digital Audio (SCI+TEC). Initially formed as an exclusively digital label and a vehicle for his own productions, the label won fans around the world and now releases in all formats from a range of breaking new artists including Delete, Paul Ritch, Rocha & Lewinger and The Dolphins -- as well as the man himself. As 2008 got underway, Dubfire was heralded as the most forward-thinking artist, featured twice in the Top 10 of the ‘100 Most Charted Records of 2007’ on Resident Advisor and winning Best Techno and Best Minimal Artist at the Beatport Awards. With new production partnerships in the works alongside Oliver Huntemann, forthcoming productions and remixes with notable techno tastemakers and upcoming SCI+TEC showcases in London, Tokyo and New York, Dubfire is once again breaking new ground and moving the scene forward -- while keeping a steady grasp of his ‘punk ethic’!

With over 15 years of experience as a DJ and producer, George has helped change and evolve trance from an underground movement to massive festival experiences throughout the world. “George Acosta is probably America’s most unique DJ and has undoubtedly been a major force in shaping the sound of trance in Miami and beyond†says fellow DJ Dave Ralph. George Acosta is America’s representative in the global Trance scene. Coming up playing warehouse parties in his native Miami, he then went on to producing tracks of his own with such international hits like Planet Soul, Emotions, Taking Over Space, R U Awake and The Reaper. He then made the next logical step for a successful DJ/producer and opened his own record store, Grooveman Music in Miami. He knows his crowds so well because he is just as big a fan as they are of his music. Just like the thousands he plays for, George Acosta lives it. George tries to maintain a close connection to the people who come to hear him play because like them, he discovered the music as a fan first. It was during his three-year residency at Miami's famed Shadow Lounge that George honed his craft and began educating South Beach to this wonderful emotional roller-coaster ride that was quickly moving west from Europe. Now firmly entrenched in South Beach, George produced his first mix cd, “Awakeâ€. This became the definitive sound of South Beach. It was this same cd that helped propel George on to the world stage. With record bag and headphones in hand, George prepared to move the planet in his own unique way. He began playing some of the biggest clubs and festivals in the world, Berlin's Love Parade, Miami's Ultra Beach Festival and Rave on the Rocks to name a few. And with demand for George reaching a fever pitch, he produced his second mix cd,â€Release: AM and PMâ€. This ambitious double cd was representative of his legendary all night sets, evoking the different emotions and textures of his sets, from epic, string-soothed splendor to searing tech-trance. The demand for all things George Acosta soon led to other successful mix cds: such as “Trance Nation America†through Ministry of Sound along with his latest release entitled “History of Trance†on Ultra Records. George is also currently in the studio working on some original material with such artists as worldwide sensation Jon Secada among others. “Traveling to different places and countries every week, playing for so many people--it makes me want to play more intimate stuff," he explains. "I used to play harder. Now I'm into the more melodic stuff. I guess when you grow into this scene you want to play records that mean something." George proves he's a trance DJ that can move onto something bigger and better. “Whenever I play anywhere, I feel like I am at home, I look down to the dance floor and I see my people, they understand me, they understand what is happening as I spin my records.†It’s a journey that happens week after week, and George is their guide. His production & remix career has seen him record for some of Europe’s biggest trance labels and he’s the owner of lauded Dutch independent Intuition Recordings. A bona-fide Podcast pioneer, he’s produced and presented the much respected and widely-syndicated Intuition Radio show for the last 3 years. As a DJ he’s closed gigs for Tiësto & Paul van Dyk, is currently ranked at No. 62 in DJ Magazine’s Top 100 Chart and has spun in over 25 countries. At just 24 years old, he’s is without question the next challenger to the Dutch trance throne! Born into a musical family, it took very little time for Menno to start experimenting with the array of synths corralled in his father’s studio. His production career started in auspicious fashion in 2004 when ‘Guanxi’, his debut production was signed to Anjunabeats. The consummate music workaholic, Menno has continued to conjure one magical, melodic feat after another. Double-header ‘Magma’/‘Momentum’ and ‘Sjamaan’ were released on Fundamental (in 2005 & 2007 respectively), while ‘Tundra’ (2005) and ‘Nolthando’/ ‘Solid State’ (2007) appeared on his own Intuition label. Remix-wise, he has re-scripted tracks for The Thrillseekers, Karen Overton & Mark Otten, amongst others and to ever-increasing acclaim. As with studio production Menno also dabbled in DJing from an early age. At 17 he progressed from school discos & friends parties to a two year residency at an underground club in Eindhoven. Further charged by the reception ‘Guanxi’ received from DJs and still aged just 20 years old he threw himself into music nearly full-time, juggling his busy schedule with his studies at university. In the last three years he has successfully catapulted himself into the upper echelons of the trance DJ hierarchy. Having now spun in over 25 countries, Menno has played at clubs and events that are themselves the virtual synonyms of trance. Godskitchen, Gatecrasher, Creamfields, Trance Energy, Sensation White, Mysteryland, Amnesia Ibiza, Love Parade, Berlin, The Gaudi Arena in Moscow & WMC in Miami have all hosted his pin-point perfect tune selection and sophisticated mixing style. Alongside that he has DJed with some of the biggest names in the scene, including trail-blazers such as Tiësto, Armin van Buuren, The Prodigy, Paul van Dyk, Marco V and Markus Schulz. With his non-stop smile, energetic dancing and ever-present contact with the audience, he continues to share his passion for evocative melodies and dance-floor rocking beats. Menno’s rise through the deck-spinning ranks has been suitably reflected in DJ Magazine’s annual Top 100 poll. He debuted at 72 in 2006 before rising 10 places to 62 a year later. He is also ranked at No. 10 in Trance Addict’s annual top 100 Trance DJs poll. Following an inspiring tour of Africa, Menno broke into the compilation market in mid-2007. Mixing the first in a projected series of country-themed albums, Intuition Sessions Vol. 1: South Africa gathered together the cream of the label’s highly recognizable crop. De Jong was also at the leading-edge of the internet radio and podcasting phenomenon, launching his Intuition Radio show in 2005. The weekly episodes rapidly became required listening for the internet’s trance-hungry hoards, with Menno showcasing the very best in EDM. The show has now gone monthly and progressed onto the airwaves of XM Radio, Dutch national Slam FM & Worldspace with tens of thousands of listeners tuning in each week. The Intuition Podcast is also available as a download via iTunes. -The Main Room (House-Progressive-Trance) -The Martini Room (Hip Hop-Old School, R& -The Mink Room (Mashups, Hiphop, Top40) -The Mafia Room (Latin Music) -Heated Patio (Smoking Allowed) GLOW – Washington D.C. After taking a break from being one half of Grammy Award nominated and Grammy Award winning Deep Dish, the most successful US dance duo in history, he's continued to delight and confound critics in equal measure - and he wouldn't have it any other way. "I don't play the trendy genre game. Music should be made, listened to and played based on a feeling and the quality of the piece and not how it's categorized." His upcoming long player aptly titled "Get Wild" is a testament to his philosophy. From tech-house, techno, electro, through to psychedelia, acid house and rock/dance hybrids – "Get Wild" has it all, and in spades. Sticking to his mantra that there should be no divisions within dance music, Sharam's new album (coming in the fall) features 17 songs from different landscapes in (dance) music, spread over a double cd-album of new material including collaborations with Daniel Bedingfield, P. Diddy, Nic Fanciulli, Tommy Lee, Anousheh Khalili, and Morel. His much-talked about DJ sets continue to rock the world's finest clubs, where you'll find Sharam slaying dancefloors such as Warung, Ministry Of Sound, Amnesia Ibiza, Space Miami and many more. And Ibiza? This summer, in association with Contact, he'll be bringing Get Wild – The Show to the White Isle this summer for 2 parties at Amnesia on august 19th and September 2nd., playing both rooms on the same night showcasing material from his new album in one room, then heading over to the terrace for a taste of his relentless techy & dark side as well as his signature house side; where he'll be joined by Yoshitoshi stalwarts, Cedric Gervais, Miss Nine, Sultan, and D-Formation. With his music and skills in the studio and behind the decks, Sharam has earned an enduring underground respect that many never maintain; while dabbling with success in the charts; many are lucky to accomplish one of these rare feats, Sharam continues to nail both. -The Main Room (House-Progressive-Trance) -The Lobby (Hip Hop-Old School-Rock Mashups) -The Lounge (World Beat) -The Rooftop (House-Chill Out-Sexxy Beats) GLOW – Washington D.C. This globe-trotting DJ/Producer/Songwriter/Remixer has a deep catalog of music that has reached the ears of clubbers worldwide. His latest endeavor, the techno smash "Summit," is a dance-floor favorite that landed in the record box of a some of the worlds top Djs, including: John Digweed, Carl Cox,Sander Kleinenberg and Danny Howells. Critics have also taken notice of Josh's cutting edge music and inovative production techniques, in fact DJ Magazine picked "Summit" as the 12 track of 2007. Following up on the success of "Summit," Josh is releasing two new original singles in Spring 2008 "Crosstalk" and "Azora" as well as embarking on a world tour to support the launch of his debut solo artist album this fall. Since 2001, Josh has racked up a total of 17 Billboard 1's for his song-writing and remix work as half of the award winning Gabriel & Dresden. The duo picked up multiple International Dance Music Awards (IDMA's) in 2005, 2006 and 2007 and are currently nominated for 4 IDMA's in 2008, including Best Producer, Best American DJ, Best Global DJ and Best Dance Act. Most recently, they were chosen by tastemaker UK label, Toolroom to compile and mix their next installement of their sucessful Toolroom Knights series. The double CD journey into modern house music has been praised by critics and dancefloor patrons everywhere and included two Josh Gabriel solo tracks and Gabriel & Dresden's remix of Mark Knight & D. Ramirez "Columbian Soul" Influenced heavily by his love of early 1980's New Wave, Josh's passion for melancholic music and lyrics runs deep. This is why you might not be surprised to find out he has been behind some of the biggest anthems to hit the clubs and radio. His first solo track released in 2001, "Wave 3," was an underground classic that sampled OMD's "So in Love" and thanks to major support from Pete Tong landed Josh Gabriel firmly on the global dance music scene. His next solo venture,"Alive" would be graced with his own vocals and was signed to Paul Van Dyk's Vandit label. Ferry Corsten was such a great fan of the track that Josh made him a custom instrumental version for his Creamfields Mix CD. As a member of Motorcycle, Josh co-wrote/produced their smash "As the Rush Comes," which is now a piece of dance music history, reaching 11 in the UK pop charts and topping the US dance radio chart in 2004. As a founding member of Andain, he co-wrote/produced their classic tunes "Beautiful Things" and "Summer Calling" made popular by their inclusion on Tiesto's "In Search of Sunrise" series. Josh then collaborated with Tiesto, creating "Walking on Clouds," which was one of only a handful of tracks to be played live at Tiesto's worldwide broadcast to billions of people during the 2004 Olympics. As Gabriel & Dresden, Josh teamed up with now the No.1 ranking DJ in the world Armin van Burren to create "Zocolo" for his artist album called Shivers. They also worked with Markus Shulz and Departure to create "Without You Near" which showcases Josh and his wife Kristy singing the vocals in the chorus and has never left their record box since. As global DJs, you can be sure Gabriel & Dresden get their fair share of requests at their shows, some of the global most requested include Gabriel & Dresden's own "Dangerous Power" and "Tracking Treasure Down", The Killers "Read My Mind," Rachel Star "Til There was You," Parasma "Swing to Harmony," Way Out West "Mind Circus," DuncanShiek "On a High," and Paul Oakenfold's "Southern Sun". Josh is currently in the studio working on his first full length solo artist album as well as finishing up Andain's debut artist album. Both albums are due to get released some time in 2008. Josh will be touring America until June and then in Europe to support his new solo material. -The Main Room (House-Progressive-Trance) -The Lobby (Hip Hop-Old School-Rock Mashups) -The Lounge (World Beat) -The Rooftop (House-Chill Out-Sexxy Beats) GLOW – Washington D.C. Deeply enthused by all of this and, as it emerged, incredibly talented, Steve quickly honed his turntablism skills, fusing hip-hop, breakbeats and 70's classics until he won himself his first club residency in Stockholm. Under-age (16) and out way past his bedtime, Steve was earning a not-so-honest crust to support his family alone. Whatever, he was seriously rocking that club week in week out! Steve's first ventures into the studio were with best buddy Sebastian, at Seb's father's place but it was a further three years before the mighty "Freshly Squeezed" and "Echo Vibes" were created and released on Joia Records, Drawing heavily on influences such as Daft Punk's "Homework LP", Steve was finding new favour with the house music fraternity. Indeed "Echo Vibes", something of a hit at the time, was remixed by Eric Prydz, with whom Steve has remained close ever since. Today Steve, Sebastian , Eric and Axwell are known collectively as the Swedish House Mafia â?? a name to watch out for! And so to Size Records: Steve's baby; the epitome of everything that Steve stands for; the outlet for Steve's voluminous work; and the vehicle for Steve's determination and ambition. Conceived in 2002 and operational by 2003, Size Records has truly taken the world by storm. Garnering support from house music's biggest superstars (Erick Morillo @ Ibiza, DJ Dero @ South America, Danny Tenaglia @ USA, Juan Bailey @ Mexico, Dave Armstrong @ Europe), the label has got off to a rollicking start. and remix requests from just about everybody. And to date, the label is just seven releases deep. Steve Angello is an inspiration. He is a remarkable talent and a consummate professional. His music is borne of real life and real passion. This is just the beginning for Steve, he has just turned 21 years of age. He knows where he's going, and he'll certainly get there.. SEBASTIAN INGROSSO BIO - Sebastian Ingrosso and studio partner Steve Angello have just finished remixing the brand new single from the biggest solo star on the planet. A deep, emotive remix of the soon-to-be classic Justin/Timbaland single My Love, it's a master-class of low-slung bass, haunting vocoders and thundering drums that Jacques Lu Cont would be proud of. In short, it's perfect for Pacha, Space and Fabric floors alike. Particularly at four in the morning. Cool and deadly, it's almost certainly their smartest remix to date. "The original idea was boring," reasons Seb. "The idea was a straight-up house mix of an r'n'b track but I wanted to do something epic and mystical. You can feel the vibe in the track and the lyrics so we vocodered Justin's voice. We just wanted to do something different. The remix features a bass by a guy called Andreas who plays in rock bands: it's a live remix." It sounds like a remix should: rearranged, re-worked and restructured to bring out the best in the original. If only more artists did this. "I played the strings on a Emiltron synthesiser," adds Seb with a smile. "When it comes to remixes, Ingrosso is adamant that the best work comes when you go the extra mile. "When I'm satisfied, I'm satisfied but I'm quite tough on myself," he says. "Of course, I want the label to be satisfied too but I also want us to surprise ourselves as producers. No-one can believe we've made a rock/dance track... but we did it!" This year has been a busy one for Seb. As well as Justin, there have been killer re-rubs for Felix and P Diddy (the searing Jack U remix), a glorious, glistening house mix of 'Swimming Places' and an uber-cool mix of new outfit The Modern. "Pete Tong requested 'Swimming Places' for a mix CD he was doing. I just added the tweak it needed. I did it for myself in the beginning and I sent it to Pete and a few friends. Then Defected boss Simon Dunmore rang and said "we need to buy this remix from you!" But what qualities does Seb look for in a song, we wonder? "I always look for great harmonies! I want the vibe to be cool, I love eighties disco when it's made in a forward-thinking way. I don't want to remix cheesy trance, so don't look at me for a Cascade remix! With all due respect, that's not my vibe." 2006 is all about stepping up to the plate for Seb, particularly in the studio. "I want to take my productions to another level. I want to make new, forward thinking music now. I just did three tracks with Salem El Fakyr who's coming out with an album on Virgin soon. I'm open for everything. We did really good with the dance stuff but I want to work with other artists too. Just as long as it's cool. I listen to everything from John Legend to Britney and Jacques Lu Cont - I'm a music lover. Stuart price, he says, is an artist to aspire to. From Madonna to New Order And The Scissor Sisters, his house stamp is all over the charts AND the clubs. And Seb is not a little jealous. "He must be number one!" he shrugs. "His things are too good to play almost! His musical sides are amazing, he takes the records to whole new levels - he's very inspiring." Stuart Price aside, he also rates Harry Choo Choo Romero ("he's done some great stuff") Sebastian Leger, Eric Prydz, Axwell and of course Steve Angello. "But my musical hero must be Quincy Jones. He's so versatile. When you listen to 'Thriller' today, the bass-lines and beats could have been made today, it still sounds so up to date." The key thread to Seb's sound, however, is one thing: soul. "Yes, there needs to be something to grab me. I did a lot of hard electro stuff but you need soul in the music, it can be hard, twisted and distorted too but it needs something that makes you laugh, dance or cry. That's the thing with music. You want a reaction." In two years time, Seb says he wants to concentrate more on studio work. "I love DJing but in two years time, I want to produce artists, develop myself and my sound. I'm so excited. This is the best thing that ever happened in my life. This keeps my alive. It would be cool to work with the Ret Hot Chilli Peppers, Kylie or Madonna and develop their new sound and image." Which is, of course, what Stuart Price did so well before him. Does he want to be the Timbaland of dance, then? "I hope so! I would be very honoured if someone said that." Anything else you like to say before we leave? "Yes! I want people to know that I'm very hungry. I'm still learning every day but I'm at a level where I can do everything. I just want people to hear what I'm doing."
