Agreed, I've driven to NY from Miami once and now I am planning another trip early November. It sucks that the AUTO TRAIN departs in VA and ends in Sanford, FL. I still have to do about 8+hrs of driving on both sides.... As for the high speed. I feel if it is presented in the right areas and the routes are favorable, people will ride it. I've ridden the ACELA a few times from NYC to Philadelphia and it is truly a ride. A little pricy though only to cut 30 minutes off the Regional trains time.....

I also heard things a while back about something in Homestead. Not sure if thats the best place for one, but i do think that South Florida does need some kind of Water/Amusement Park........... Risks from hurricanes in the summer and the few cold days we do get in miami during the winter, our weather may discourage development. >
