  1. Have you guys been to West Elm in Chelsea? I really like some of the stuff there....some of it is too modern and uncomfortable, but there is plenty of really good stuff for reasonable prices. www.westelm.com.
  2. Im getting sleepy just thinking about it. :-*
  3. is there anything good going on right now? I wanted to see Roseanne a couple months ago at Town Hall but tix were too expensive. I loveeee Roseanne. I think she is hysterical and I still watch the show. I also really enjoy Sandra Bernhart. anyway, lemme know if y'all know of anything good going on, I havent been to a comedy show in ages.
  4. anyone ever been? I think i might go on saturday, i heard it is cool. www.museumofsex.com
  5. IKEA? god, I wouldnt be cought dead there! Ikea:Furniture as Ikon:Nightlife
  6. a sale at ABC is kinda meaningless tho, the place is so expensive, norah!! im going to look through Time Out right now and see what's going on. glad you found a sofa ! I've got an amazing pottery barn chair and ottoman in my bedroom, it's like a cloud....several people in this board have been blessed to sit in it.
  7. Guidos infested this party and ruined it with their fighting, bad attitudes, etc. I stopped by for an hour or two and was disgusted.
  8. Personally, on the weekends I've been enjoying shopping at thrift stores and furniture places (I am re-doing my bedroom little by little). I love West Elm...that place is awesome. I also got new curtains...the new home depot on 23rd street is ridiculous. Anyone know of some cool places here in the city with ecclectic furniture--- nothing uber-expensive...im looking for a small desk (for a laptop and a small color printer), some end tables for beside my bed, and some other odds and ends. I've done the whole flatiron/chelsea thing over-and-over again...but there must be more out there :-X
  9. very well written review. You painted the picture well, and I am impressed with your writing ability.
  10. strange that none of this was in the news, however? this is what baffles me. I mean, clearly this did happen because I've heard it from lots of people...but im suprised it got no coverage. im not sure if someone was actually killed, I think that might have caused more of a stir---
  11. are the runors true? 4 stabbings, several intense fights, and the place was shut down at 6am and cops were outside questioning people upon their exit? if this is true, too bad for pvd...he's a great DJ and deserves a better crowd.
  12. awesome! Happy birthday, my friend. Hope you celebrate and I wish u all the best! x
  13. yes , we got together a couple days ago and worked things out. we'll see what happens. :-X
  14. my plans have changed a bit...im watching the ball drop with someone especial in my apartmento and we will cook dinner together and then go out afterwards....no clubs, no crowds, somewhere chill. that sounds great to me...
  15. exactly. depending on your trade, one can predict how beneficial grad school would be. if you wanted a degree in Ary History, I'd say go to grad school. if you wanted a degree in film, I'd say to just learn it on the fly in the industry and network a ton.
  16. This movie was terrific. The way he managed to tell the story was great. He seamlessly intermingled things and there were several twists of fate...a very engaging film. If you're a moron, you'll be lost in the plot and sequence of events. Aside: Gael did not look very sexy in this film...not like in Motorcycle Diaries.
  17. Everything is OK now...I had some shite bringin me down but it all fell into place last nite so this holiday season no longer bites the big one. thank god. anyway, for NYE, there are several decent things going on at venues that will be good. There is also a ton of shit that will be catering to amatuers and tourists. Here are my votes--- Ring in the New Year at Crobar. yes, there will be tons of b & t and tourists, but there will also be a ton of ny'ers and the artistic elements alone command respect. Alot of thought and work goes into their productions. Plus it's open bar til 2am. Junior at the Roxy might be cool. Definitely wont see any moms and dads from wisconsin there. Patrick Duffy's "Alice in Wonderland" themed party at "5 Ninth." This party will probably be the best one of them all, it goes very late, and it will be a completely authentic nyc crowd. He draws one of my favorite crowds of people and his productions are over-the-top. Mixed crowd, sexy people, stiff drinks, etc. I recommend this. There's also Sullivan Room afterhours beginning at 3am, which might be cool. I'm sure APT will be cool, maybe around 3am... I'm not sure what im doing yet. I kinda want to do parties this year at people's apts versus the big clubs. we'll see where the misletoe hangs and I will be below it somewhere having a great time. 8)
  18. one of the best days ever. This pic is Tim and I at Bora Bora beach club 2 summers ago. PS Tim, I didnt know you have a copy framed, so do I! It's on my desk, and everyone always stops by to ask where the pic was taken and who the really pale skinned person is at the table with me.
  19. that's sweet. any reason you've DJ-named yourself after a deli meat?
  20. :-\ :-\ :-\ this years holiday season has just bitten the big one. :'(
  21. i thought jersey was home? it's a neighboring state, with mass transit to and from NYC.
