I kind of like the woodstock type set ups, stages and all day party. I heard that is more Dancevalley and Loveparade can be too crowded but for some reason i heard better but that is just one persons opinion. Also, with either or both, do the DJ's play after for a few nights at clubs in the area? If you go, both of these events are on Saturdays. Do you stay for a few days after or go a few days before, like WMC for instance, after Ultra you stay a few days after. Thank you in advance for you help in making this decision and cant wait to hear what you guys have to say. Thanks again:)

the whole city of berlin is one big party during the week of loveparade...it has been more commercial lately (some dj's have blacklisted the event)...but in general a great experience.

Highly recommended. The city of berlin alone has the feeling of what nyc was before the gentrifying vultures attacked.

i refuse to succumb to using labels anymore....it just minimizes a concept to make it easier to draw lines of war between genres.

the label consists of a few different artists that record elsewhere as well. lot of beautiful sounding releases from there.

darker intricate sounds to melodic chill tracks to inventive basslines that thrash a room. you can listen to many releases.

The visuals were supposed to be  And I checked kanzleramt. Thats where I read about Laux. Is that a techno label? Or is it more like Superstition that combines few genres?

    its heiko's label....

He played at Nature One Winterworld. Havent heard any of his sets yet. But thanks for the heads up. I will definately check him out. Have you heard Valentino Kanzyani? Same thing. Starts off weird and all of a sudden you find yourself in a different dimension.

Hmmm so journey is an old word...How about odyssey?

Valentino is a good guy...from slovenia...has been in nyc a few times. but he gets a little redundant.

your big on the festivals huh...:)

    check out www.kanzleramt.com

definitley can agree to that....but "journey" is an old word:D

can we find a new one.....

ever hear of Heiko laux or Alexander Kowalski...

    different music...still melodic..and definitely a journey..

You might have misunderstood me. I didnt say that this music was never around NYC. Of course it was. And we had some good times. But having tracks on the cd (Humate, Oliver Lieb, Taucher all appeared on various compilations throughout the years) does not mean it is the same as dj set. And because their DJ performance is not as bis as production, makes it all special. Although Taucher and Humate did spin around the globe, and I beleive Taucher was at Dorian Grey for good 2-3 years. Oliver Lieb had an essential mix back in a day. There is no question that they can spin. Just sad they never did it here. Ok well like I said what other names in proggy style will suit NYC and please do not bring the usual "hottest" djs around. Give me examples of some rarities.

cant think of any rarities of "progressive dj" (i hate labels)...because they all play the same tracks over and over..

and if its not the same track...its the same formula.

i dont know about you but, i dont like my intelligence insulted when im in a club. Its should be an expressive on the fly never heard before type experience.....not a formula driven staged show...kind of like a brittany spears concert ya know....

I think this is true. And I think Avalon has that. I mean they are bringing Lisa Lashes!!! And beleive me she has a really nice thing going in UK right about now. And you will be surprised what people might want to come to NYC. I already mentioned about Judge Jules. "...If you ask him he will. Dont go for djs that became rock stars, go for the talent and you will see. Jules was in NYC long before 1st time he did a Gatecrasher party in Limelight. You know what he said? Noone ever approached me to spin anywhere in NYC. I was coming here for years to shop for records!!!! IMAGINE THAT!!" People like Yves De Ruyter, PUSH, Talla, Taucher, Scott Project all would gladly come here. And they are not as expensive as you think you are. Promotion is the key.

judge jules and lisa lashes are tools of merchandising......

    no talent involved.

he was supposed to play SF, Centro-FLy, and twilo...

he never showed for any of these gigs.

    ask around....

  9. sure the RIAA is little harsh....

i could care less for the sharing of pop songs...they make millions as it is.....but.....

your taking the food out of the mouths of all the hardworking

producers out there that dont make millions...not even thousands in some respects. i suggest you you change your mind

about what your offerring...otherwise there wont be anything to trade in the near future.

we were all bummed out about the situation with Dandy Jack but unfortunately it was out of our (112 Crew) hands.

zoki: you never cease to amaze me...just remember your roots buddy...thats all i'll keep saying...you have a bad case of short term memory....its great that you know so much about techno and everything associated with it but please dont forget those Fred's Beauty days...i don't.

see you gave an answer diego should have...

i didnt sit here and mention specifics...and as you know my roots ...i have never been a fan of arc.

roots...of course i remember my roots.

you want to say i didnt play techno back then????

Also played trance and progressive house at fred's (is that what you wanted to hear?)...and l shared that place on west 27th every friday with you.

dont know where your going with this.

u have rocks for brains man. next time u book someone to play for your club, and they turn around and play for someone else the night before for free, see if you would like it.

u just dont do that zokster. stop hating already dude...

and for the record, it was sammy dee that was on the decks from 2-415 am. so all the haters saying the music was minimal and boring and this and that from 3-5 are obviously referring to the guest dj and not the residents. carry on.

i hear your stress about the night before thing....arc has a history of "exclusive bookings"...i still say so what.

it was a small party that didnt even advertise him as dandy jack.

i didnt go...hence the enthusiasm for arc.

Sammy dee didnt live up to past gigs....but the dj prior to and after didnt do much either. i thought minimal and boring was the new forte??? if anything.....sammy is a bit above the rest in that sense.

hating is for little kids...i just voice my opinions...god knows i been around as along as you have...if not longer. we have all gone through the good and the bad....and that night in my opnion was bad. its cool to defend the success of the crew...but

to blindly defend a night and diss the guest dj is poor form.
