"Not for nothing, but if someone spends 100 hours working on something and still can't get it right...get someone else" Thats not what the situation was though - random people completely f-ked up the lighting board when the LT wasnt even IN the club. He left it on a program, they took the program off by mistake and not one person could fix it --- he had to rush back and get it working again. (That has nothing to do with what was done prior to the opening) Also - you are limited by what the owners want to spend and what they approve in what time frame. Their decisions affect the end result. The hired help can only do so much, if the owner(s) dont want to spend the $ or the time to do it right, and on time....the LT was suggesting for MONTHS to make these changes, and only the last week or two did they even START to think about it. IT STILL is not finished completely to this day - because it got approved so late - not b/c any of the workers did anything wrong or dont know enough...Actually, most other people in this area either didnt know enough or charged 5x as much for the work, that they wouldnt have gotten done as quickly. Yes there are tons of lighting people- but most fall in those categories and thats why they arent working sorry just had to thrown in a lil explanation

I didn't mean u hon Just doing some damage control - someone started hatin on him last Danny party yet didn't realize the entire set of lights and equipment hadn't been bought/fixed/replaced/tweaked/set up yet....sucks b/c he put in a TON of work at the very last minute and people blame him for all the drama thats got nothing to do w him glad u had a good night havent been on here in a long time nice to see some familiar names

A little explanation re: the lights -the light guy worked 13 hrs straight before the club even opened...he had to leave for 45 mins to shower & eat something before starting the next shift. Put on a program & two minutes after he left someone f-cked it up - shut everything down but the strobes...no one knew what to do. He put in about 100 hours over the past 2 weeks working on WH lights so didn't want anyone to start hatin on him!

It opened in '96....8 yrs ago so if you went when it opened that would make u 16 You must have had a hell of a good ID lol. Up until the very end we were getting citations for underagers and they had THE strictest id policy (not even door - just ID, the police installed cameras RIGHT outside to monitor security checking) oh, the days of flirting w/ cops to make sure they would turn away now and then when a 16 yr old model or celeb came in who the owners wanted inside

Yeah, LIFE. when that place closed I swear the entire state went downhill lol Nope I was the one writing the book lol . I moved to SoBe to take a break, NY was getting to me, and im glad I did. Its gorgeous here, but NOT a place to live forever (unless u have a strong business reason ) just not as much diversity/opportunity/motivation and a true NY'er goes nuts after about a year Someone just pm'd me but it was blank?

Oh and I hear its even more $$$ now - and 1/2 as many ppl get in. I mean its a great school but its getting ridiculous. I thank my grandparents every day for putting a college fund together for me when I was born!

LOL well its a great resource - I have been living in southbeach for 1 1/2 yrs and am moving back in a few months. I always look through the site and get an idea of whos hiring for what - plus weeds out a ton of the crap you get on most other sites I feel so OLD lol. Thanks guys , any info is appreciated!

Many a night curled up under a mushroom )) Those white leather couches......lining the walls.....the 4-6 people to a bathroom stall and the constant MURMUR of ppl bumping up and scuffling around that bathroom was SICK..........Those window installations with people in suits sitting at tables doing paperwork and you being like OMG what are they doing )) So original......i remember walking up and down that staircase just looking down the length of the club and being amazed....... In 11+ yrs of clubs that club and time / party was the most amazing and memorable, hands down - mixed and a little of EVERYTHING totally incredible.......Junior at his best, aside from Arena that's where I felt he really peaked........All his hard progressive vocal buildup tracks - early/mid 90's thats what I STILL listen to Awwww ........what memories! That silver bedroom.....

Anyone know of any other pet stores on SoBe aside from the one on Alton and 16 near that blockbuster? I miss Manhattan with the hugeee PetCo in union square!!

Correct about Privelege in Ibiza - almost every week during peak summer time is 10k plus and the closing party 2001 which I was at had almost 15,000.........

Tunnel just opened again as an event space, being booked by a catering company..........Did complete renovations, will be interesting to see what type of events end up there! Jennifer & Cam broke up years ago, she just got engaged (to someone else) and he is doing some acting - new movie coming out soon - (his last one flopped, the one w/ his dad and grand father, It runs in the family) Scores is on 28th, I believe either right across or 1 building over on the other side......

Jesus, whats up w/ the "this is this and that is that" bc - I'm from Manhattan, moved to Miami, my boyfriend is Cuban, from Kendall, and we live right near Flamingo Park in central SoBe, (I'm JEWISH btw lol) There are ALL walks of life in Sobe, the jew from NYC, the cuban from kendall, the millionaire tourist, the model, the homeless, the DJ.........its a great mix of everything, so unless for some reason that turns you off - I can't see how you wouldnt enjoy that- and being within walking distance of everything..... All of the stereotyping and generalizations mean nothing its WHAT YOU WANT and is important to you - if you want to walk outside, be @ the beach/club/lincl. road and the buzz , move to Sobe.. if you're into more peace & quiet, culture and maturity/9-5ish lifestyle, move elsewhere.....there are clubs/restaurants/bars/lounges EVERYWHERE - saying "there are more here than there" is ridiculous, you can find your life/niche/fun anywhere it just depends on what specifically you're looking for and what type of surroundings you want. If you're from NY and looking to spend a year or so here, dont bother going anywhere other than SoBe, waste of time -if you're her e for good and want to start a life/family/buy a house or something - a more residential neigborhood would work better than Sobe (I can't see raising kids in Sobe - but I couldnt see moving here from NY and living 30 mins from Sobe when that's the main place I'd be going ......)

LOL I guess I figured they wouldnt wear them every time they spun at the same place- but I guess I see the point SAME exact CREAM circular thing hanging, same decorations, weird!!
