  1. I know there is a phatt line-up at Twilo August 4th. dave seaman, anthony pappa, slacker, steve lawler and chris fortier easy ------------------
  2. Since Dave Seaman will be doing the opening set. 1100-0230, expect a slow start and building it nice and chunky. Don't expect trance right off the bat. To be honest, i doubt he will play trance. His sound is mellow and lush progressive house with a touch of subtle trance. He likes to play tracks with vocals. He is just an amazing dj who really knows how to get the place shakin' without the long drum rolls and cheesy synths. Pure class! ------------------
  3. Cheers Wizard. Atleast someone believes me... As for Tenaglia. He spins everything from classics to disco house, and then getting into the darker and deeper side. A lil progressive, and even some subtle trance. Don't expect to hear anything from the Gatecrasher CDs. Whatever he spins, he does it right. A trip into different genres of music done right. Check him out. He is at Vinyl every friday. His GU017 London is to be released in late September from his recent set at HOME in London. easy ------------------
  4. If you want to check out a 'top' party. I suggest you check out the monthly 'touch' parties. They're off the hook. Featuring local talent, you wouldn't believe how good these guys are. Forget S & D for a week. This is the place to be on Saturdays... info www.touch-nyc.com 6.3.00 Chaelra 330 W 38 St btwn 8-9 Ave $15/$10 w/invite easy! ------------------
  5. Oh, forgot to mention that Deep Dish are 2 different djs. Ali and Sharam. Dave is set to open for them but don't be fooled by the warm up set. I think that's just as important as peak time performance. You gotta love the way Dave buils it up. Amazing! I'll be going with a couple of friends flying in from Miami. It's going to be a top night out. After Twilo, we're going to check out Tenaglia at Vinyl. In my opinion, the best djs on the planet. He is the mesiah. cheers ------------------
  6. Sorry... I have to disagree about Deep Dish not being worthy. Why don't you go see for yourself. You're going to listen to a stranger's opinion who probably knows less about the music than anyone on this board. If you don't go for Deep Dish, than atleast give Mr. Dave (all rise) Seaman a chance. He is pure class and can take on that musical journey of twisted progressive funk like no other. Here are the times Seaman 11-2:30 Deep Dish 2:30-close easy ------------------
  7. Sup club heads? Been around a while. I am 27 and have been clubbing since I was 14. Origianlly from Miami, I moved up here last year to pursue a different scene. Due to some of the parties I promote for, I usually (not always) get comps or reduced. I don't mind paying though if the line-up is worth it. I've payed up to $75 to party so money isn't a problem. I used to fly up on the weekends to check out Junior at Palladium. Remember those 'Arena' days? I can't believe I used to go nuts for him. I can't even stand the shite he plays now. That's it........Time for me to shut up easy ------------------
  8. Don't waste your time and see Oakey and Jules. Seems to me that they need some reinventing to do. Just beware of all the pissheads that follow these djs. I urge you to go to Pacha and Space. Probably the best coubs in the world in terms of crowd and looks. Just unreal! I'll be going in August during peak season. Can't wait to check out all the pretty birds out there... Stay away from San Antonio! ------------------
  9. Hey Blue, See. Im not going nutz. Look above this thread. Part of your messages are in BOLD. Why is that?? ------------------
  10. Thats not what I meant. I was referring to the other remaining threaded message in BOLD. Ahh, whatever... I was just wondering. ------------------
  11. Agreed. If you have to rely on getting at the club, I would suggest taste testing. The more bitter, the better. If it doesn't taste like anything then DON'T BUY IT! Last sweet one that I had was yellow 'Motorola' Put me in the mix! ------------------
  12. Just curious blueangel. Why is that everytime you post a message, you 've got a quote from the previous message at the end of your posts?? hmmmm ------------------
  13. Sorry mate. No website. I just found this info surfin'. easy ------------------
  14. Back, So you'll be there for the closing parties eh? Well, try to be there for Labor day weekend. Sept 3rd is an amazing line-up at Space. If I don't make it in August, I sure as hell am going to try for the 'Tyrant' party. Don't know if that's your thing but Craig & Lee are both amazing djs and the shit they spin is nothing but top notch funk. To those that are going... Try to be down with the locals. If they like you, they'll tell you the lowdown on the coolest parties on the island. We're talking about the ones without flyers and promotors. Just word of mouth. They're usually in the middle of nowhere but don't let that fool you. It is an experience of a lifetime. Put the 'Space' and 'Pacha' clubscene on ice for a bit and check out one of those 'hill' parties. easy ------------------
  15. 'Touch' parties are always off the hook. You can always expect a good vibe at their gigs. Bring glowsticks, hell bring whatever you want. Everything goes there! check out their site for more details... www.touch-nyc.com Don't forget to get on the list for reduced admission ------------------

  17. How could going to see one of the best djs around today be draining to anyone? Think of a better excuse mate. If you haven't seen Seaman yet, then I strongly suggest it. He is just pure class. Get there early though. His set starts at midnight. ------------------
  18. www.gatecrasher.co.uk for more info ------------------
  19. I have to agree with JohnB here. He never said all trance was cheesy. Jules is the king of cheese though. I heard his set on the essential mix this past weekend from 'Homelands' and I couldn't believe the crap he was playing. One thing though, people adore what he plays. And they all live in the UK. So you can't sit here and say that all that trance crap is old news. Apparently it is still being played out in most of the major festivals. You want to hear some good shit. Go out and spend some money on the 'Tyrant' cd mixed by Craig Richards & Lee Burridge. That is the funk of today. The sound of now persay. I can guarantee that is what will be played out in Ibiza this summer. Ofcourse, it depends what part of the island you're at. Stay away from the west end. ie(San Antoni) aka Cheeseville! The sad truth of the matter is that cheese sells and it will never die... ------------------

  21. blkraven, I suggest moving to Miami. They love that sort of trance thing. That's all they hear down there. George Acosta (puke) is the messiah. Sorry to say mate, Ferry Corsten, Matt Darey and Tiesto are producing some grade A cheese material lately. They may have been the bomb a year or 2 ago, but that sound has moved on into different realms. Nowadays, when I go clubbing. I don't want to hear the same tracks over and over. I want to hear some shit that I've never heard of. Sasha & Diggers are a prime example. Just to let you know, Quivver, Dave Seaman, aren't playing trance anymore. You'll see on June 9th. Straight up progressive house on the quality tip. ------------------
  22. Off the chain! Which tracks did it for you?? ------------------
  23. Just curious. What type of music are you into? What djs do you like to go hear? ------------------
  24. Let's put an end to all this different rumours why Sasha & Diggers left. They left early to catch a flight back to England to play at the massive festival called 'Homelands'. Another thing. I think Digger's was brilliant. Nice, dark and deep stuff. For those that want to hear Mercury & Sollace and all those last year anthems... It ain't going to happen. You should know these guys by now. They change their set everytime they come to Twilo. New tracks, different style, and always keeping it underground. If you want to hear anthems and candy trance, you'll have to go when PvD is in town. He plays the same set everytime! Same 'ol 'Avenue, For an angel, Another Way, and Binary Finary' Come on people, those were last years tunes. I have to disagree with everyone here, I thought it was a brilliant set last night. I liked it better than last month's 3 year Ann. set. Tracks of the night -Close my eyes- Kismet Totally blew us away! easy ------------------
  25. Thumbs up for Twilo tonight. That's if you're into that kind of sound. Exit is more like domestic hard house. ------------------
