    MP3 's

i make backups of my files all the time. i've burned data on dvds as well.
  4. If you have winamp, try installing this: http://classic.winamp.com/plugins/detail.jhtml?componentId=22143
  5. The Punjabi song is actually really old. Indians love hip hop so only a little after Busta Rhymes came out with Fired Up someone (maybe punjabi mc) remixed it with an old punjabi song. I personally it's a poor attempt at rapping over the tune by Jay-Z, I really expected something more from him. On the other hand it's nice to hear punjabi music getting more airplay and it would never have made the airwaves without the rap. If someone is interested in the original song, let me know , I should be able to dig it up. by the way, the style of punjabi song that is sampled is called Bhangra.
  6. I'm not familiar with Roxio, but it is possible that it does not support MP3. In which case you need to conver the mp3 into a WAV file. You can do this easily usign winamp. These are the steps: 1) Press Ctrl-P 2) Select Output 3) Select Nullsoft Disk Writer Plug-in (optional - if you want to pick a special directory, select configure and change the output directory. Otherwise the default is probably MyMusic) 4) Press close 5) Load your track (make sure only your track is in the playlst window. 6) Press play. 7) You won't hear any sound but the WAV file is being created. Try loading the wav files onto roxio. If that doesn't work, I'm not sure what the problem is. Best of luck.
  7. I downloaded that mis-labeled track from soulseek as well. It's labeled Luz - So In Love with you, but it's not ... it's "so in love with two"

  16. I have the same problem, but I only have trouble sending to people who also have a router. The router is your firewall. For some reason if only one person has a firewall the files can be transferred, but if both are behind the firewall they can't. I've never been able to figure it out, but my guess would be to put your self outside the firewall (DMZ host). Your computer is now vulnerable to all the crap on the internet, but you should be able to transfer files. Also .. I hear that ICQ doesn't have this problem. I haven't checked it myself. Good luck. If you come up with a solution please post it. Thanks
  17. That's what I use as well .. CDRWIN. However, I only have a trial version. I tried to contact the creators to find out where I could buy it so I can record at higher speed instead of 1X. If you have any information, I would appreciate it if you let me know. Thanks
  18. Sounds like you are recording the cd fine, my guess would be that it's the cutting into regions that is getting you in trouble. I've never used CD Architect 5.0 so I can't tell you anything about that. I use a recorder that uses a cuesheet. This way I can tell it to start at specific position.

    MP3 player

It's more of a transfer than a download. All mp3 players come with a software that make it simple to select the tracks you want and then transfer it over to the mp3 player. sony netmd sounds really cool.
  22. Brickhouse has a really good point. You should consider if it's worth converting to a higher quality file because the sound is going to be as good as the lower quality. But if you still want to do it here are the steps: 1) Open Audacity and load the mp3 by clicking on "File" then "Open" and then selecting your file. 2) Once your file is loaded (it may take time, depending on the size of your file), change the output format. - click on "File" then "Preferences" - select the File Formats tab At the bottom there is a MP3 Export Setup. Since you're doing this for the first time, click on "Find Library" Look at the directory where you installed the program for the file. Then at the Bitrate choose 128. 3) Finally to save your file, click on "File" then "Export as MP3" Good luck

    MP3 player

I don't have any experience with the MP3 player you are talking about, but there are a few things you should consider. The amount of music that can be stored on a 128MB memory is dependent on the quality of your MP3 files. A file with quality of 128kb/s gives you a little over 1min/1MB. So you would get a little over 2 hours. 192kb/s will give you about 90 mins. If you reduced the quality then you can add more. Personally 128 is as low as I get. Also, on the web you can find out how long the battery lasts. Good luck with it.
