A favorite of all the big jocks! Matt Licata (Be Yourself @ Vinyl w/Danny Teneglia, S.O.L.I.S., Gatecrasher-Limelight) With DJ spots at the famous Be Yourself night with Danny Teneglia and an oppurtunity to open up for Judge Jules at Limelight's Gatecrasher night Matt is truly the perfect DJ to kick start the night. Truly a NYC favorite! Rus Deep (Union, Touched By A DJ) If you know Rus then you know his dedication to keeping the NYC underground alive. His style is constantly evolving to reflect his inner passion for music. His sets always take the listener on a journey. Tribal house fades into techno. Techno melts into trance. Trance blends back into house. No matter what, the music is always dark, sexy and percussive. Expect the unexpected when Rus Deep is behind the decks... DJ Lu (Trancelvania Sounds, DJ Central) A former Bad ass of the massive techno and rave scene in the early 90's. He has played with everyone from Frankie Bones, DJ Dan, Scott Richmond of Satellite Records and many more! Lu is a true product of electronic music itself. Sanjay (Rhythm Addiction) With partner DJ Mantra they founded Rhythm Addicion itself to help the dying club scene. A DJ who carefully crafts every set to perfection and it will show when he takes the decks. Look out for much more from Sanjay and co. in the near future! 10. Good To Hear! I'm supposed to DJ there in August for a party thrown by Mixer and Globalbeats.com Check it out: www.globalspinoff.com -DJ Mantra
  11. Has Limelight been shut down by the NYPD? If anyone can let me know I would appreciate it. I'm asking because I just saw it on the news. WTF is going on?
  12. If you're like me and hate how commercial and cheesy the trance scene in NY has gotten then read on. When something underground hits the mainstream all hell breaks loose. Cover charges sky rocket... ($35?! R U FUCKING KIDDING ME) Hey any it's not even New Years, shit! Anyways I am tired of the fucking sellouts, drifters, and bridge and tunnel heads fucking up the once untouched vibe. I would like to do something about it and I would like whoever is reading this to join me. I have plans underway to throw a bi-monthly party starting this summer. Just deep grooves and no bullshit attitude. I wanna bring it back for the kids who are true fans of the music. Visit our website for more information @ http://www.rhythm-addiction.com Join us in taking back what was once rightfully ours. -NYUP Crew
  13. HEY PEOPLES, A FEW OTHER DJ'S IN THE NY METRO AREA ARE PLANNING AN UNDERGROUND TRANCE PARTY FOR THE NEW YEAR. THE NIGHT WILL REVOLVE AROUND A NIGHT FILLED WITH THE BEST GROOVES FROM AROUND THE WORLD MINUS THE COMMERCIALISM AND OVERPRICED COVER CHARGE. DJ'S WILL BE SPINNING FROM ALL ACROSS THE TRI-STATE AREA AND BOSTON, PHILADELPHIA, ETC. IT WILL TAKE PLACE EVERY OTHER MONTH AND IF IT BECOMES POPULAR, THEN EVERY MONTH. WITH THE EXPLOSION OF DANCE CULTURE IN THE PAST FEW YEARS THE SCENE HAS GOTTEN MADD COMMERCIALIZED. RADIO AND SUBURBIA DOES NOT HELP WITHER! TRUE-CLUB KIDS AND TEK-HEADS HAVE BEEN LEFT OUT. I WANNA TRY TO CHANGE ALL THAT. I JUST WANTED TO KNOW IF ANYONE ELSE WAS WITH ME ON THIS AND IF YOU'RE INTERESTED. GIVE ME YOUR FEEDBACK, I'D LOVE TO HEAR WHAT'D ON YOUR MIND. -ROB
