The "Motherfucker" party that was last night at Avalon is more than a "gay rock" thing. It's about diversity. Diversity of people - Gay. Straight. Bi. Trannie. White. Black. Fetish. Punkers. Rockers. Disco Queens. And the diversity of rock music over the last 40 years. No pretentious a-holes. Only people being themselves. To me, it's a pleasure being somewhere & getting to talk to people of all kinds. It's what NYC is about, and it's what NYC needs more of. As one of the many straight people there last night, I consider myself very lucky to have been part of the "worst. crowd. ever."

I remember Mother very well. Nothing like it since.

The big man - Carl Cox!!!

There has been nothing to replace MOTHER. It was much more than a "goth" club. It compares to TWILO in the passion that it brings out from its devotees. Gone but never forgotten. Neville drink? NAAAAAHHHH!!!

I shall leave the name out of it as the woman who was doing that sort of thing is not anymore. We weren't involved with the raw steak performance. But at the Tunnel performance we did, Danny Tenaglia allowed us to interrupt his set so we could use our own music for a 15 minute performance - a very classy act.

I'll be one of the "old" people dressed in black who was involved with some S & M stage performances at Twilo & Tunnel in late 97/98. Don't go clubbing a lot now - but always for Mr. Carl Cox! I'm going to take a nap now. See you kids later.

I used to be in that building in the mid to late 70's a lot during the summers I worked in the garment district when I was in school working the Dirk Diggler look. It's usually closed now when I pass by in the middle of the night:) :)

I'm coming up to see Carl Cox at Avalon from the NYC area next weekend. Is it necessary to get tickets in advance? If not, what time should I plan to show up to not have to wait on a line?

The music that night was incredible. The coat check & the DWI on 11th Ave. were not.

Here's another vote for this party. It was good last week & should be better this week. It is a friendly bunch.
