  1. I loved the days of Tunnel/Twilo even the sound factory before Twilo but changing the name to me will never bring back those memories. In fact I think its an insult. UNLESS, they play the music there from that era, and put a half pipe in there (like in tunnel in 95) and really make it good. The problem I see in NY and this is only my opinion, is that greed is blatantly out in the open. Clubs have changed drastically since those days and I truly miss the respect and lengths Peters clubs used to go through for a good party. Well Twilo is not one of his clubs but it was great in its ownright. Maybe Im just getting older now :)

    so true ^

Even if they built a scale model of twilo today the djs would still be playing that vibeless electro crap and the promoters those greedy fucks would still be sceaming to give the clubbers the least amount for there dollar. Back in 1998 when I started at the tunnel there was a look of innocence in peoples faces. You could really see people getting down who had no other objective besides dancing vibeing and just enjoying there time. In the modern clubs today there is a separation, haves get to be in the have area and the have nots are cramped up and uncomfortable which leads to a wack night out.

    Good Venues need

    Multiple Cold Water Fountains

    Good Ventilation

    Proper seating

Make fruits available (especially for those late late parties.. SF used to do this years ago)

Friendly and honest management (this goes from the owner down to the bus boys, you are running a business and should make your patrons feel welcomed)

Strict policy with drugs and other bull shit (this is the only way our scene will survive)

  2. 35 bucks ... and you got to hear AT THE LEAST 5 GREAT DJ's! (taking in to consideration that your to mangled at times to even have a concept of who was spinning ) now for 40 bucks i get ...

i bumped this thread cause of the limelight turning into a strip mall thread ... i know venues cant go on forever, but what happened to the vibe, the scene, the talent and ultimately ... the music. Why did that all have to change?! I blame the DJ's for the most part ... there are DJ's who go to venues and will play the minimum of their contract, fucking duche bags. Jeff Mills for example, how are you going to come to NYC and only spin for 2 hours when over a thousand people came to hear you, thats some fucked shit. Regardless of the politics between, venue - promoter - agent - dj .... in the end, respect the people who come out to support not only you, but the music!

Mills is a Douch bag to the fullest extent. He once came to arc for a gig and decided that he didnt want to spin. So he put a Cd on and a video of his two friends spinning.

  3. I dont want to sound like a smart ass or a pessamist but you can change the club but not the clubbers.

The US has some of the best clubbers in the world, so did NYC up until 5 years ago. Since then drug use has tipped the scale and the true music lovers are getting pushed to the side while the velvet rope is being opened for the people with lots of green and little understanding of the scene and our culture. Things need to go undreground again and built from within.

  4. That is really outstanding what he did with that money and coodos to these sharks of the buisness industry.

    ...

"Within our lifetime I would expect we would have vaccines and medicine to eliminate all 20. There is no reason we shouldn't be able to cure those top 20 diseases," Bill Gates said.

But there is no money in a cure, only temporary fixes. I hope though that good overcomes all....

  5. do you speak english?... if you are not a native from this country then all is good, and i could understand that.. but if not, well i may go to a few english courses if i were you.

    Odjebi Kurva Jebi se
