  1. I just wanna :blown: myself!! I thought this was gonna be a weekly event!!! Im' gonna be down Fri the 22nd and this event wont be going off. ANY BREAKS AROUND then?? I'm in New York and cant get any here. Someone please help me I'm desperate:(

    (Sounds pretty pitiful lol)

  2. I was askin about breaks on this board about a year and a half ago and got SLAMMED for it. Mainly because I'm from Florida and NYers seem to have a thing for Fla breakbeats. I can tell you that I gave up going out around here because the energy in a club is no where near as slamming as that in a room with beats going off. Clubs here play tunes with the same shit playing over and over again. I'd rather stay home and listen to my bath tub drain!!

I would be ecstatic to go to a venue that was full on break beats and garage. Oh and for everyone that has jumped on the cheese bandwagon about Icey has never heard the dude live, and scratching!! I guarantee in a room with him playing live you will not be able to stand still, unless ofcourse you cant dance!!

  3. I'm curious why there is so much hype on break beats all of the sudden. I posted about a year and a half ago about breaks on this board and got SLAMMED for it. Don't get me wrong I'm ecstatic that breaks may finally be taking off in NYC. Although I'll really believe it when Rick West or Rob E is spinning in NYC. Peace for now all of my fellow breaks heads!!:D

  4. That song is also on Northern Exposure from S&D's Expeditions. It's track 9 and it's called Free by Mono Culture. The lyrics your talking about play 4:32 into the track.

Enjoy!! I have it and love it!!

  5. Icey is my absolute favorite DJ at the moment. I am sick that I missed his NY appearance. His new one Essential Mix is PHAT!! It's his best one so far. Also check out Rick West and Baby Anne. Both are from Tampa. Enjoy!! Oh and George Acosta is Cheesey trance in my opinion.

    Hello all,

This an update & reminder for this Friday's party at Frying Pan.

If you haven't been there yet, you will be amazed -- this space is the best

location in Manhattan for Halloween party, we are making the most of it. The

sound system is already installed reinforcing house system on the pier by

set of four subs, full-on mids, two racks of amps and effects! The boat's

inside is too loud, we might have to keep the volume down so you don't

    damage your hearing. Wear ear-plugs.

The most of Frying Pan pier is being sealed by huge tent with heater inside,

the space lit by many blacklight and video projectors. Our design artist --

Daniel is working on preparing special backdrops and 3-D sculptures

especially for this event, this is in addition to amazing artwork by

    Severyn.

The line-up as described previously will remain same, however main floor in

the tent on top of the pier will be fully psychedelic starting from TINKER

live (New York's own trance band, highly psychedlic and full of energy

beautifull sound!!!) with five band members totally live on stage with

guitars, drummer plus groovebox and DJ!!! from 12am following their warm up

    (or guest DJ)

SubtleChaos DJ set by Jason and Vadim four descks and CDJs, we will take

over the pier after TINKER starting 2am until it's sunrise.

At same time inside the boat you will be able to hear some of the best in

techno and drum and base. Throb's DJ Prozac and DJ Chrome of Blackkat will

have you groooving to their sets, it's a Halloween freak party. We hope to

welcome all friends of Blackkat and techno heads from around the city. You

will have a chance to hear and see some of the coolest underground DJs.

Sometime just after or before sunrise we will all join together for the last

DJ set from the special guest (T.B.A.)

This is pretty much all we have for update right now, we still have lots of

stuff to do, mainly decoration and lighting setups, additional DJ bookings

for chill-out (the boat has a small chill-out) and other stuff. Let your

friends know and ofcourse bring your granny!!!

    --subtlechaos

this sounds like the way to go, how do we get in tickets?? list?? let me know

  7. That breakbeat version was from DJ Icey's new cd Essential Mix. That song is phat and I'm so glad he played it that nite. People in NY don't really know Icey I suggest you pick up this cd. I LOVE it.

We all should definately get together. I have family in town the weekend of the 22nd. How bout meeting the last week of sept??
