  1. I'm planning on checking out Surf Club for the first time this Sunday and was wondering if anyone could give me some info. I know it's on the beach, but do you have to go through the club to get on the beach? And can you bring in things like towels, change of clothes? And once you are in the club, will they let you go in and out? (I'm used to Philly/AC where that is the norm.) Thanks.

  2. If you are going to be in Philly the weekend of Mar. 2, definitely check out Transit on Saturday night. They are having a special party, which means it will be packed and will be open til 6am. The crowd is mostly mid-twenties and the music is good.

  4. Studio 6 is definitely trashy and the crowd can be a little rough, but it's definitely the best club for hardcore partying and dancing til you you can't feel your legs. They are also making the club a lot bigger. For those of you who have been there recently that's why the back staircase to the upstairs bar is closed off - they are breaking into the adjacent building. If you peak through the curtain you can see the ceiling of the new dance floor and it is A LOT bigger. They were shooting for Jan. 1, but now it looks like sometime before Spring.

  5. If you're clubbing in AC, try Casbah at the Taj Mahal - I hear it's very nice, if a little commercial, but beware the long (2+ hours lines). Deva Vu totally sucks - very commercial meat market. The best club in AC, hands down, is Studio 6 - but only on Saturdays, after 4am - the music is awesome and the crowd is straight to mixed and off-the-wall, but any other time it's a pretty low-key gay club.

  6. Don't waste your time at Deja Vu - very commercial music and a lot of guys standing around the dance floor smoking cigars and ogling the girls. A new club called Casbah just opened up in the Taj Mahal in AC. I hear its pretty nice, but haven't been myself. Your best bet is to wait til Saturday and hit Studio.

  7. Definitely don't go to Studio on Friday. It's nothing like Saturday night. Forget the gay thing, it will just be empty. But Saturday's are off the hook from 3:30 til noon. The Sundays before Memorial and Labor Day are also good.

  8. Has anybody out there gone to Ibiza with Bring-It On Travel?? I know they we're doing a club nyc promotion a few months ago. I'm just trying to find out if they are legit and reliable. I'd really appreciate any info. Thanks.

  9. Let's set the record straight: Studio 6 IS a dirty little hole, BUT it is incredibly fun!! I've been to Twilo(Fridays and Saturdays), Factory, Ministry (London), and Studio is still my favorite club!! There are no pretenses, no rules: it's one big circus.

So, if you want to stand by the bar all night, looking pretty and never breaking a sweat or if you're into fashion and glamor, DON'T go to Studio.

But if you want pounding music, a crazy sideshow atmosphere, and don't mind getting drenched in sweat on a steamy dance floor, head to Studio around 4.

ps It will really crowded this weekend because of the holiday, so they'll probably be charging $25. There is absolutely no dress code, but girls do tend to dress up a bit.

  10. Anyone have any experience with BringItOn travel? I know they were offering an Ibiza package through this web site about a month or two ago. Just wondering -- are they legit? how was the service? Thanks.

  11. I'm glad the whole Bedlam thing flopped. The only real AC afterhours is Studio Six. TJ the DJ spins hard progressive house and trance til noon every Sunday. And don't waste your time with Deja Vu, unless you're looking for commercial tracks and a lot of guys with cigars standing around on the dance floor.
