  1. Its really not new at all, its just how its done in Ibiza, and Europe.

Lots of industry hanging out last night; Eddie Baez, Vicious, etc...

Chilled with Roger S for awhile, good times.

If anyone's been to London, Spirit is laid out in similiar fashion to Fabric's main floor.

how's the bar scene down there?

Dude... New Orleans is the nations best bar scene...

I've had some of the best times of my life in NOLA, short for New Orleans, Lousiana - just prepping you on the lingo.

If you're staying in the French Quarter, you're on the money and you'll never be sober. :)

Bourbon Street is an absolute lush's dream. No liqour laws, bars, lounges, some clubs (dont expect too much house music except for Club 735 as to what Flip said, that place is a dump :) )

Check out Pat O'Briens, have a few Hurricanes, and you'll feel like you were just hit by one.

As far as food goes... don't come back to NY unless you've tried -

    A Po'Boy

    Crawfish (if you like seafood)

    Jambalaya

Good eats are all around... Acme is a good place, its on some shady side street between Royale and Bourbon I believe (if I remember correctly... its been 4 years)

If you can really feel music for what it is... wander down Decatur or Royale and find some hip clubs to listen to some old skool jazz, blues, funk, even some old fashioned bayou Zydeco. Don't ask, you'll learn ;)

Dont wander too many blocks north of Bourbon, gets shady. Stick to that area and the river. Hit Jackson Square, there's a nice big market just to its eastern side.

If you can handle gambling, go to Harrahs on Canal street, 1 block south of Royale. I actually won $2300 when I was there last time and it paid for my entire trip, a night out to a 4 star restaurant, and my Miami trip not too far after ;)

There is a club or two off the beaten path where Fortier and the kats from Balance played at... I'll look into it for you, just remind me in a week or so via email.

Hop on the trolley and take a cruise into the heart of New Orleans... scope out the hot university girls... and check out the gothesque cemeteries and Anne Rice's pad too.

Yes, I love that city. Been there 3 times.

Both these venues are great alternatives to the clubs.

Myself and Andy run the Fridays... and without bias, the lounge is really fun especially if you're there to drink and listen to some good tunes.

Once a month we have Astro&Glyde play, that party is always fuckin' nuts.

The weeks in between, James Ayalon continues his 'Got Soul' residency which has been going strong for hte last 7 months. Don't think big room and you'll be havin a blast.

Sullivan Room on Saturdays is a personal favorite of mine... always great music and probably the most versatile medium sized lounge I've ever seen. Shit we even had Hybrid there once.

They're opening however, and the kind of operation that is to pull off is massive... building from a raw nothing to something insane.

This place will be insane... the layout, everything is suited to be something incredible.

  5. This Saturday!

Its CP Members Aztec & Dznyc's bday jam! (Plus our friend Taj, but Im not even sure if she posts on here hehe)

A special event at ‘Butter’ - We figured make it open to everyone because good music is something not to be missed.

In honor of the birthdays of Andy from Urban,

and our good friends Taj and Dino we decided

to throw a one time party at the gorgeous

    restaurant/lounge known as Butter.

Saturday nights are already hot here... but things

    just became a bit warmer...

This is a party for all! Come celebrate music, life,

    and happiness.

Our events are always musically orientated, thus

our friends and associates are providing the tunes

    for this evening...

    Special Guest DJ's:

    Low End Specialists

    Astro&Glyde

    Chris&Kai

Its rare one can drink in elegance with no door drama and have the sounds of the global underground all around.

    12am - 4am

415 Lafayette Between 3rd street & Astor Place

We would prefer if anyone is interested to sign up on our list on our website simply to judge how many people are coming, which will help determine the extra staff needed by the venue - since they're super cool about giving us the venue for ourselves :)

  6. If you like electronic dance music... (progressive, house, funky house) & you like beautiful places...

Then you should come to the event Im doing Saturday, its a one time event at Butter (which is an absolutely gorgeous space - even won awards in time-out)

    Top notch DJ/Producer talent -

Low End Specialists, Astro&Glyde, and Chris&Kai

    Oh, its free... :)

    12am - 4am 21+

415 Lafayette street, next to Panagea.

  7. I think it just comes down to that most people who have bad attitudes and views on life and everything in general seem to pour it out in these instances.

Im not criticizing everyone's response... I just feel that New Yorkers + NJ'ers have lower morale from the past few years and this leads to such negative thoughts.

If you walk into something without being a bit more at peace, you'll walk out being just a tad angrier or upset.

Think optimistic... think no matter what, better days will happen.

I too sometimes have problems following what I just preeched; afterall, we're only Human. Its worth a thought though.

  8. Nina,

I know an internal person or two over at Penthouse, but beside the fact, I went a few weeks ago for my friends birthday to really experience it first hand.

Since I work in the nightlife business to begin with and I really just don't believe in teases, I'm not a frequenter of exotic clubs all that much... but, damn this place is hot! I love the layout, setup, and the effort they put into it. It easily outclasses any lounge in NYC and most small nightclubs... its hot!

The girls there, as expected vary in style... maybe one or two really caught my eye, but they were all very attractive and fun (as one would expect).

We had the big private table area to the left of the stage, for bottles... which normally a huge amount is required but we got the 'Steve' discount lol

The place seems pretty well run, I dont know the logistics as I mentioned, my only ties with Scores being I dated an ex dancer for awhile and I went with her there... thats about it. I think you should go for it.

Oh and... hehe, our 'birthday' group was like 21 people... 11 girls and 10 guys, debauchery... naturally all the dancers migrated our way, hahahaa.
