  1. Ive been going to hoboken since i was 16 years old and used to love going up until about a year or two ago. Places like river street have brought hoboken to a lower level. It used to be for yuppies and now everywhere you look theres a guido or a guidette monster. Of course there are a few places that are still worth going to but overall its definitely not as good as it used to be. Anybody beg to differ?

  2. I totally disagree with all of you. Temps doesnt rule the east coast in the summer, the Hamptons does. Temps is full of a bunch of teeny boppers and guidos. Its so fucking cheesy and trashy. I grew up in Jersey and Ive even spent a few summers down in sleaside but I think you eventually grow out of it. For teeny boppers, yes

temps does rule in the summer but for the rest,I think the Hamptons is "the place" in the summer. NYC has lost its luster??? Are you kidding me? Basically you said that Miami is the only place to party in the USA. Miami is seasonal but NYC is year round baby.

  3. I havent been to hoboken in a couple of months. what is this new place i hear of, Martini blue? What type of place is it and whats the crowd like on thurs fri and sat?? I was thinking black bear tonight but I might have to check this place out.

    well.. let's see..

what exactly is it that bombing afghanistan will acccomplish? we're talking about such sparsely inhabited terrain that bombing will result in casulities of thousands of animals.. animals? yea you herad me right.. bet you expected me to say people.. well the truth is we'll be lucky to hit any humans period.. the country has no infrastructure. There are no targets we can hit except the alleged terrorist camps, and the fact is that doing even this accomplishes nothing. Only 15% of the population lives in urban areas, and that statistic was before any of this began. Thus it can be assumed that this number has diminished even further. They have all gone even further underground. They're like cockroaches. They run away when your turn the light on, maybe you get a few.. but theres always more hiding in the walls waiting to reproduce.. and they'll come back again in greater number..

So for starters, bombing the country is just a waste of money.

Second, if this little stint generates any other result besides appeasing gung ho rightists, it will be the provoking of moderate muslims. Bush spent much time establishing that this war is not against islam, but only against terrorism. Well, that effort may have all been for naught after this turn of events. Many moderate Arab states were on the bubble as to supporting us in the pursuit of justice. But this is a direct attack on an islamic state by western intersts. Not many of these "bubble" states will likely support our actions any further..

aside from the politics, there is the implication that terrorist will now be provoked as well into launchign further attacks here and the gov't can't do a damn thing to stop it. they've just endangered the life of every individual in this country even further. fundamentalist retaliation is imminent. more innocent american lives will be lost

i could go on.. but now i'd like to hear what you have to say... first of all were not going after the afghan people, were actually avoiding striking heavily populated areas. were going after airport bases and destroying their means of communication thus making it harder for the terrorists to communicate and weakening the taliban. how can you possibly think you know what damage weve caused over there? youre ASSuming! futhermore, this is jst the beginning of many strikes and you can be assured that the taliban will fall and the northern alliance and the usa will take control.

  5. I HAD JUST WALKED OUT OF THE WTC AND WALKED INTO MY BUILDING WHEN THIS HAPPENED. IT WAS ABSOLUTELY SICK. WHEN THE FIRST TOWER CAME DOWN IT WAS IF NIGHT HAD FALLEN ON MANHATTAN WE COULDNT SEE A THING OUTSIDE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT IS SCREAMING TO EVACUATEAND THEN THEYRE TELLING US THAT THE POLICE IS SAYING TO STAY INSIDE. BEFORE YOU KNOW IT PEOPLE ARE JUMPING OUT OF THE TOWER AND WERE LITERALLY EXPLODING WHEN THEY HIT THE GROUND. WHEN IT WAS ALL OVER I WALKED OUT OF MY BUILDING WITH GLASSES AND A SHIRT TO MY FACE AND IT SEEMED AS IF THE WORLD HAD ENDED. THERE IS JUST TOO MUCH TO SAY ON THIS WHOLE THING SO ILL LEAVE YOU WITH THIS IMAGE. TWO FIREFIGHTERS WERE DISCOVERED DEAD HUGGING EACH OTHER.

    GOD BLESS THE U.S.A

  6. ive lived in downtown jersey city pretty much all my life and its definitely turning into a mini manhattan/hoboken area. i live right by hamilton park and its very safe. all yuppies live around here now. sandbar is ok and theres this new plase on on 5th and jersey ave thats pretty cool some nights. also try the hamilton ale house. theres only a handful of places in hoboken that are worth going to these days. black bear would definitely be my first choice. and there are two oddfellows now,one is in hoboken and the other just opened up down by exchange place.

  7. i went there a couple times when sam was spinning and it sucked. ill probably end up going there a couple more times because a few of my friends like it but id rather go to spa or lotus although those places are getting tired.

  8. I've never been to Divine Bar but it sounds good enough to try. I'm thinking we do this next Thursday or Friday because i hear we have another storm coming later this week. I think an after work meet-up would be best because of what jewel said. So,what day is best for everyone? Thursday or Friday? By the way, jewel,I got extremely busy last time we tried to do this and I didnt come on the board until recently. Im sorry, but this time I hope we carry this out.
