  1. Time to chime. Let me first start with not being ready for a grand opening. Its the biggest grand opening ever at Sandbar there were over 3100 people there and I dont think anyone waited over 20 minutes to get in. Not bad for that many people filitering in at one time. Hard to prep for 3100 people. Sorry if your 10 yrs of experience wpuld have handled things different. It sounds like you are just someone who is bitter because u might have been someone in Adam & Bill's world but you are a no one in my world or Tommy's world and you waited longer then you thought you would. I am sorry next time introduce yourself because I think I know everyone that has been in the business for 10 yrs and I made sure those people got in. Regarding our bar staff I think you really need a clue. Every bartneder that was working that nite inside and out work major venues like Deko, 118 and Joeys all winter and are used to working major crowds. Some of them also work down the shore too all summer. They are the best of the best. if you dont think so find me a bartender other then maybe a couple at djais and George from Studio 4 that would pull their weight. I am very happy with our grand opening and expect huge things out of the sandbar this winter. Vipevents 2006 if you want to be a VIP like your name says why dont u just ask instead of bash.

  2. I was at a wedding recently that Johnny Budz from KTU did and it was a real good time. Tough wedding too because the groom was italian and the bride was latino. He did a great job of mixing them up. He also had Lucas Prata MC the wedding which was a great touch. You can check him out at www.elitesoundentertainment.com. Tell him I sent you he will hook u up.

  3. Its all about Djais my ass!!!! It may be a hot spot, but at 650 people capacity it doesn't compare to surf club!!!! Say what you want, but Surf Clubs slow days have more people than that!!!!!! I am not knocking how great Djais is(I've never been there) and really don't plan on going to a place where all 10,000 people in town try and fit into a bar that size........

    Stifler,

You know I only speak the truth I dont get in the bullshit but beleive me i have seen the slow days at Surf and they dont compare. Seaside has just become a tough market to work in as you can see by the weekends that arent holidays or JP. Last year I was involved with doing the most people ever at the Surf Club over 4000 on Memorial Day and by mid July there was only 300-500. I loved working at the SURF and still love the fact that you can drink on the beach. But because the area has changed so has the nightlife. Its the area not the club but all those are factors in determining what is the place to go.

  4. What a dick thread this is!!!! It must take a pathetic looser to self-proclaim yourself such an ignorant title.........................besides that how the fuck do you think the top promoters you mentioned got to where they are or haveing the parties they have?????

    you dumbass!!

Guess what Sergio is agreeing with Sergio right now. First let me thank you kingofthecasel for the nice things u said about me and the two clubs I do Deko and Joeys but as flightcaptain said everyone has to start somewhere. Between Bon, Joey Enuff and myself we have over 30 yrs experience working in this business. Actually my 11 yr anniversary is Friday October 15th. Since I can only speak for myself I know that when I started in this business I needed to start in smaller places. The first management/promoter job I had was a small place I ran in the mid 90's called Liquids in my hometown in Harrison. Prior to that I was a bouncer in a nightclub called Malibu in Scotch Plains. The place Liquids was about the size of DEKO upstairs and it was a straight out restaurant. We had a rented sound system and lighting with a catering hall look room. Now, the place would resemble 1/2 the lounges in NYC but back then it totally didnt fit in. My key was that I was going out since I was 15 and I knew a boatload of people. Many of these people came to work for me. I had a great staff and the best DJ lineup in NJ. I had Frankie V (resident @ Club XS when it was great at that time), Johnny FX(resident @ Stingrays) & this guy Denny Tsettos (I think a few people have heard of him on here). The place did well for being a restaurant and a few months later my town over paid for it to make it a school. Bottom line is everyone has to start somewhere. The other guys you mentioned are all great guys and they bust their ass to succeed. Its a tough business and yes many people think it is ez to be successful in this but it is not. Creativity is a key to longevity. Yes since there are only 3 clubs in your mind in NJ then where is everyone supposed to work. Give these guys a chance you never know. I will mention one of the guys that u criticized and tell u that he tries hard to be successful. That is Pitek. Over the years I have taken Pitek under my wings and helped him through many of the roadblocks that you face in this business. All and all I feel he does a good job and in the right room he could really shine. The rest of the guys in my eyes have done a good job and other then working with Victor here and there I have not worked with anyone enough to give u my opinion.

  5. The date is set (This Friday); the room is set (All New Joeys); the only thing not set is the MUSIC. This Friday Night @ Joeys I invite everyone to attend OLD SKOOL (the PARTY that is all about the ANTHEMS of 1985 to 2000). Since there are just so many I want you guys to list your favorites and I will make sure these two masters get the list. There is only 6 hours to play all these tracks so give me the best of the best.

  6. The pickup will be at the Shop Rite parking lot on Franklin Ave in Nutley. The bus will be picking people up at 10PM sharp. The cost to get on the bus will be $20 (introductory rate). This includes transportation to and from the club plus admission and no waiting on lines. We are trying to prevent drinking and driving and the headache of driving 25 minutes home when u have a few cocktails in you. To reserve a spot on the bus or if you have any questions email me at sergiotigs@aol.com.
