  1. Awesome, thanks for all the info! We'll probably be pretty hungry in the morning, so I think we'll check out Paris's breakfast buffet. After that, I think we'll take a nap and then roll up our sleeves to start gambling.
  2. Any recommendations? We're flying in Saturday morning, and will arrive by 9am. I've heard the Paris breakfast buffet is pretty good?
  3. Soooo many private parties out there... my friends and I checked out a few random ones last year, but most of them were mediocre at best. I definitely don't want to waste time this year, and really want to show everyone a good time (I've been put in charge of planning)... Weyes, can't wait to see the pics! I don't think the grad students I know can afford to blow $30 for a ticket and then $$$ on drinks in one night, so we'll be opting for something a little more low-budget... still, be sure to bring back a review and pictures!
  4. Anyone know of any good clubs/events? Currently undecided...
  5. Ouch! Domestic abuse = not cool, good thing she ditched that loser... http://poststuff.entensity.net/080204/paris.htm

are her tits real or fake? not bad
  7. the "grand opening" was last night, you didn't miss anything
  8. Went there last night... cheesy music, cheesy crowd, HORRIBLE entertainment (some wack wanna-be eminem emcee). The entryway is like a "Life of Larry Flynt" time warp... AVOID AT ALL COSTS
  9. Okay, I'll be blunt. I spoke with my fiance, whose best friend is coming to LA to visit this weekend. He's into hiphop, but really looking to hook up. Basically... what club would you recommend hitting up as the best/easiest hookup spot? We'll only be going out one night, Saturday night. My fiance wants to make sure his friend has a good time, so hopefully he'll be able to find someone and take her home for a good (to put it bluntly) fuck. His friend's a good-looking guy, smooth talker... I guess my fiance and I will be watching in the wings. Should be an interesting night. With that... any recommendations/suggestions/place to avoid?
  10. Some friends are coming into town and I'd like to take them out... any recommendations?
  11. Unfortunately attorney isn't an option... I don't have the funds to go through a legal battle, but I will go to the nurse who was in the room with me to see if she'll give an anonymous testimony as backup for my complaint.
  12. I'm going to make an appointment with a better gyno ASAP to make sure no perm. damage has been done, but unfortunately the only other one available is booked for 3 months solid... my healthcare plan sucks, I'm going to upgrade to another one asap. You just can't put a price on health. I'm writing up formal complaints right now, and hopefully something will be done... I don't want anyone else to go through anything like that, and I think there have been problems with this particular doc before. For the women out there... always get a second opinion, never trust a doc immediately, and get OUT if you feel uncomfortable. I made the mistake of staying...
  13. I had a horrible, horrible experience with my gynocologist yesterday. All I needed to do was go in to have a prescription refilled. That's it. I called to make an appointment with my normal gynocologist, and I was told he was booked solid for three months. I asked if anyone else was available, and that's how Dr. Gold's name came up... a doctor who I've had serious problems with in the past (he performed a surgical procedure on me that should NOT have been done, it increases my risk of having a miscarriage in the future and I should have gotten a second opinion but I didn't, as I was extremely upset at the time), who I had resolved to stop seeing, and who other doctors have warned me against (he's older, "oldschool", and not quite up-to-date with the latest news and technology). Dr. Gold, apparently, had THREE openings that very day (hmm, I wonder why), so I resignedly scheduled an appointment for 4:15pm. I arrived at 4:10pm, and was finally called in at 5:20pm. As the doctor started to come into the room, a nurse commented, "Well, you're grumpy today!" Not a good sign. He entered my room and confronted me about the complaint I'd called in about him before... apparently he'd heard about it, and took on a very haughty, "I-am-the-doctor-and-you-are-the-lowly-patient" attitude. I nodded absently and just wanted my prescription... Not once, not twice, but THREE times he left the room to "check my records" on the computer, LEAVING THE DOOR WIDE OPEN when I had only a paper gown covering my lap. So much for his concern of patient privacy. I tucked the flimsy gown closer around me, feeling very uneasy and extremely uncomfortable. When Dr. Gold returned, I asked about the old results of my pap smears (I like making sure everything's 110% okay), and he sighed, looked annoyed and exasperated, and said he'd just do another one. I should have objected knowing his track record, but I didn't because I figured... how the hell could anyone fuck up a pap smear? Well, Dr. Gold figured out a way. Very roughly and without warning, he SHOVED a speculum into me... it hurt and brought tears to my eyes. Normally, a pap is a very gentle swab to obtain cells. This time, I experienced pain, not the normal slight discomfort. Dr. Gold scraped my sides with something and when he removed his glove, it was smeared with blood. I was hurting and horrified, and even the nurse looked uneasy. Then he started talking about bc pills, and how certain ones are so new that they don't even have generic brands available for them yet. In the middle of his speech, the nurse in the room interrupted him to say, "Excuse me doctor, but I use that pill and they do have a generic alternative available for it." Dr. Gold glanced at her dismissively and said, "Well, some of them don't." I lost any last shred of credibility or respect I had for him right then and there. His unprofessionalism, coldness, and downright rudeness shocked me to the point where I just couldn't say anything. After I was left to undress, I opened the cabinets to see where he'd retrieved and replaced the speculum he used on me. In the lower cabinet under the sink, there was a small bin filled with dirty-looking water (which I assumed to be some sort of sanitizing solution) and speculums. I realized he'd picked one out, used it one me, and then tossed it back into the bin... and that sickened me, because half the instruments were only half-soaked in the solution. I wish I'd had my digital camera on me so I could've taken a picture of the unsanitary conditions this office was storing their tools in... for anyone who works in a doctor's office, is this sort of thing normal?? I managed to maintain my composure until I reached my car, at which point I broke down, started crying, and called IslandBoy. I felt violated and disrespected, and couldn't believe this doctor was still practicing medicine, seeing other patients who were probably experiencing a similar level of "care". I've resolved to file a formal consumer complaint against Dr. Gold with the Medical Board of California. Form here: http://www.medbd.ca.gov/complaint_info.htm I hope I'm not put on some black list for patients (I highly doubt this, it's not like I'm taking dozens of doctors to court with complaints, I'm filing some very serious concerns with one doctor and one doctor alone), but I feel action needs to be taken. It's a shame doctors like Dr. Gold exist and practice in the medical field/profession today. I seriously believe doctors should be recertified every 10 years or so (Dr. Gold is at least 70... I've had very competent older doctors, but he most definitely is NOT one of them) in order to keep everyone updated on the latest innovations in technology and such, should they fall behind. That's all, just had to vent...
  14. Oooh, that sounds like fun... I'll have to invest in a shower curtain, thanks. Will look into that kama sutra handbook, too... has anyone tried tantric?
