  1. Yousef will compliment Derrick Carter VERY well....he rarely plays the states and is a GOD, again GOD, in England. He won't spin hard house...he'll spin vocal funky house. They style we're all used to. Trust me, get their for Yousef, you will not be dissapointed. I am going to see him as I perfer him over (gasp) Derrick.
  2. Then you always have to leave time open for the random afterparties and hotel pool shin digs. I def can't party like I used to, but having a plan and knowing when to chill helps you out in the long run. I find also not drinking during the day helps.

  4. I went for 5 days last year and knew I couldn't go straight through partying hard every night. I always took naps before I went out and made sure to have a big breakfast and dinner. I took the middle night off to get a full nights sleep, balance myself a little, and not party till the following night. I worked it out so that I had a little over 36 hours of being sober. My body thanked me for it as I was ready to go my last two nights. I plan to so the same thing this year, although you really can't plan anything till all the lineups come out.
  5. I will be there....I think tix are 15 at the door. I am just going to buy at the door but will get there early. There are pre-sale tix.
  6. I will be there....Gaafar is from Groovanauts.com and is great!

  8. Me! Been into them for a while now....New Deal, Soulive, Robert Randolph, Reid G and AOD. Didn't make it to Bonaroo this year though.
  9. This will be sickkkkk...I just hope he comes ready to go bc lord knows we will be. Last time he was ehhhh..and I love Sander. Might be a dumb question, but what is a pioneer DVJ-X1?
  10. Looks good, but where is the line up? I didn't see on the website. It's only a few weeks away....
  11. I don't think it had him at Summerstage...it was released April 2003, Summerstage was just last summer.
  12. ...I will watch it. People who live/party in NY have to understand that even though in our minds E is passe and soooo 4 years ago, it takes a long time for this trend to filter out to suburban america. And it's now to the point where Peter Jennings reports on the goverment's attempt to control the drug. The drug has run it's course in the NY party scene but middle America is just now using it and realizing the effects that we figured out 4 years ago. NY is just the first to get any new drug. Then if it makes it here, it will make it anywhere (sorry Frank...) G and Tina will be on Peter Jennings in a few years...
  13. awww yeah Sander's set at the WMC was my highlight and I can't wait to hear him on Crobar's Phazon...like the guy said I must relive that experience. I just hope they have him in the club's actual DJ booth up in the corner instead of where S&D was....so we can have more room to dance and get the CO2 cannons. I would assume because of S&D's popularity they were put there to showcase them... I was shakey about hitting up AvB or Spirit, but now that Sander is coming in, it's a no brainer.
  14. Just saw this on the calendar....who's in? They have great upstairs room for shows, I assume it's where they would play....
  15. Finally a thread about his set.... HE KILLED IT!! The highlight of the WMC for me...chunky, sexy, prog house and prog trance. Watching the sun come up with the set he was laying down was one of the best clubbing experiences I've had. Other tracks... Bestie Boys - Intergalatic Coldplay - Clocks (the remix with all the verses) I am a terrible trainspotter...but he spun a track from Digweed GU LA disc 2.
  16. Just wanted to let the CP community of the Crystal Meth show at Webster Hall April 2nd... I didn't see it posted anywhere else. They have a pretty sweet room for shows... Link to Tix... Enjoy!!
  17. I heard that Crobar will be a house only club, no trance. Is this true? I was there last thursday and would love to see the PvD trance and some prog acts there. On that Phazon and with the CO2 cannons...wow!! I'm just waiting for all the bottle service peeps to move onto a new venue so the real music lovers can own the place...
  18. Yeah I agree. I was there on Thurs night and it was fun, but for the first few weeks they won't get any big name DJ's there to kind of feel out what works and what won't. I mean Calerone is the resident there starting soon, so there will be a HUGE gay and transvestite following...so that is expected. I also heard they are aiming to be a house club, no trance... Let the bottle service peeps run the place for the first month, then they will move on to some other lounge-of-the-month and Crobar can then bring the music in.
  19. Yeah we need to get a grip when comparing old clubs to new clubs, etc. Remember that PvD interview when he said he remembers playing to a half-full Twilo? It just takes time for a club find its niche and see what the market want/can bear...just as Az-tec says. Also, we really need to remember, especially the peeps who've been clubbing for 5+ years and have probably seen it ALL, that the scene has gotten very mainstream now. I mean that electronic music has gain credibility leaps and bounds over the past few years because of the undergroud Limelight/Tunnel/Twilo experience. We are much more educated when it comes to the music, the drugs, and what we expect (all of us being music snobs and all) That being said VERY few things surprise us. S&D's residency was impressive because they brought a sound which was forgein to our ears so it kept us coming back every last Friday of the month. Now, with the internet and such, there aren't many DJs who can't be heard and therefore we know what to expect when they come to NY. I know us clubbers are just looking for a place to call home and we've grown impatient because we've had it so good in the past. We just need to wait a little bit and eventually the market will drive the club owners to develop a place we can call home again. The club shouldn't create great memories for us, it's what the people bring that we'll remember. My .02
  20. Is that just a track listing or did someone record it?? Just curious...
  21. EXACTLY I always like Jaysea's opinions. You can find a party in NY any night of the week that will take you through till you have to leave for work the next morning. There isn't another city with the establishments to support the demand for a party every night that last till 6. We get kind of spoiled here because we've always had the best and and when we don't get it, we whine about it...
  22. They have a few different entrances to Summerstage, so lines prob won't be a problem....the place holds 5,000 people. I saw Widespread Panic there in the rain 2 years ago and it was SICK...PvD in the rain would kick so much ass. Its the same night as the VMA's so the city will be buzzing...
  23. You can bring it into the park, just like you are walking around anywhere with booze, but cover it up. The venue is sponsored by Heineken, so there will def be beer available in the venue. I assume they will give out bracelets for 21+....
  24. He is spinning NYC thursday night, then Transit Friday morning at 1am...
